On Sunday looked at  Matthew 19:21 as we wrestled together with how to think about money and giving to the local church. While we outlined various reasons people don't like to talk about this, we also spent time exploring the "why" people give as well. Simply put, we support causes we believe in. On Sunday looked at  John 2:13-17  and the idea of keeping our physical grounds, as well as our community safe from harm.  In my message, I mentioned a helpful resource I often look to, called  The Roys Report . On Sunday we looked at what the Bible has to say about demons, with our base text being  Matthew 4:1-11 . Christ has defeated Satan and we wait for the day when all things will be truly made new. Until then, we should be discerning with what influences we allow in our lives, as well as understanding that there is more to this world than we can currently see. -Sermon from 06/30/2024

On Sunday we looked at what the Bible has to say about angels - as per  Hebrews 1:1-14 , they are ministering spirits sent to serve humans. We'll look at the counterpart to this topic in this week's service, as we cover the topic of demons. On Sunday we looked at the second chapter of  Zephaniah , as he called Jerusalem back to repentance and then pronounced doom on the four directions around him. This past Sunday we looked at  Mark 11:1-25  and two troubling passage right in a row - the cursing of the fig tree and the cleaning of the Temple. Both of these are symbolic of Jesus' frustration with empty religion, of the crowds who are excited about the work of God only to yell "crucify" a few days later.  -Sermon from 03/24/2024
