One of the reasons why Jesus is the perfect judge is because He experienced what it’s like to be human. Which means, Jesus experienced disappointment, frustration, and even feelings of uselessness. Yet in spite of His feelings, Jesus never quit.

When reading Isaiah, we should try to see things from GOD'S perspective. And it just so happens that GOD sees us as His kids, or that He's our father. This perspective was so important, that the opening lines of Isaiah's letter mention it, and in these chapters, it once again comes up. Do you view GOD as your dad?

GOD is sovereign, and fulfilled prophecies should help us to know this. And one of the best prophecies ever made by GOD is that He would blot out our sins through Christ. So a question we should ask ourselves is, “Is this prophecy fulfilled in me?"

If there is one over-arching theme in Isaiah, it’s that GOD is sovereign. And how GOD demonstrated His sovereignty was through fulfilling the statements made by His prophets. And there are numerous instances where GOD did this in Hezekiah’s life alone. But the most well known prophecies of Isaiah were all concerning the Messiah, or about the one who would be sent to help prepare the way.

Hezekiah was king of Judah, and his actions impacted many others. For example, when he pursued GOD in the midst of trouble, GOD respond, and the people of Judah were saved. This should make all of us wonder, “What do I do when I face trouble? Do I go to GOD?” And now that we’re living in an age where GOD’S temple is the church, what does that mean in terms of “drawing close” to Him? That’s what we...

It doesn’t matter if it was in Isaiah’s day, Jesus’ day, or in our day, GOD wants us to change to become more like Him. So how have you changed, or how is GOD currently changing you?

GOD used Isaiah to give warnings to everyone. However, Paul stated that much of what is written about Old Testament events was for our warning! So, are you good at receiving the warnings that GOD has given us through His word? And like Isaiah, are you willing and able to give warnings to others on GOD’S behalf?

In chapter 32 of Isaiah, he makes a prophecy about the changes we would experience when being led by the Messiah and King. One of those changes was that "hot-heads" would learn "sense and understanding". Would you say you're a "hot-head" or that you've experienced some attitude changes because of Jesus?

The number one thing that drove the the people of GOD to lose courage and take their eyes off Him, was when their fears became greater than their faith in Him. When we do that, at the very least is robs GOD of worship, and it might even be spiritual adultery.

This week in the Book of Isaiah, we're looking what Isaiah had to say about the leadership of Israel and their drinking problem. As many of you know, alcohol abuse has impacted a lot of peoples lives. That being the case, how should we as followers of Jesus approach alcohol consumption?

In spite of the coming judgments, Isaiah also gave prophecies concerning Immanuel, or GOD with us, which foretell of the Messiah. However, many don’t realize the significance what was taking place within his own family, and how GOD used all of them to make some profound statements

Isaiah does some foretelling about the church, which is really fun for all of us, but then he gives some foretelling to Judah/Jerusalem. The statement, “Let the punishment fit the crime” is a well known quote in many circles, and what it ultimately refers to is an old testament principle known as retribution theology. The whole point of this message is to introduce the person of Isaiah, and to establish how he received his specific call to be a part of GOD’S plan to confront various kings and both the nations of Israel and Judah, but primarily Judah.

When it comes to showing our love for GOD, or reaching out to others on His behalf, this should never be done in a manner that’s sloppy, half-hearted or lazy. In fact, everything we do for GOD should be done with excellence, and our efforts to reach others should be excellent too. After all, GOD gave His best for us, why wouldn’t we do the same for Him and others?

When you think of the word “reach”, think of the act of stretching out or extending in the direction of others. That is exactly what we want to do as followers.
