Sunday Morning Coming Down

As dozens of East Coasters build a tent city in White Bear Lake, the visit has John reflecting on where he’s from, the healing power of music, and catching that next wave.

As John prepares for the entire East Coast to visit his crack house, he makes time to ponder tropical flavored Dots, the rules of jersey wearing, and the idea of America. 

John answers a couple questions from a college senior he knows well, while getting back on his feet after a couple weeks on the couch. 

John wakes up early to maintain the pod streak, spends some time with a tree guy, and wonders if Harry Styles doesn’t look more like the future than we think. 

John attempts to demystify what it means to be creative, makes the case for men splitting entrees, and looks forward to his white beard phase. 

No guy knows what conditioner is, John was just first to speak up about it. He also answers a question from a college athlete and breaks down gizzards and pickled eggs. 

John’s breaks down the new Paul Newman + Joanne Woodward documentary “The Last Move Stars,” makes a verdict on bonfire protocol, and complains about the Wrangler wave. 

It was the most White Bear Lake day of them all, and John’s chest hair was not spared. John shares a eureka moment from a self-help book, and almost loses his car at Terminal 2. 

John’s shares some epic tales from Broadway weekend at the cabin, and answers the age old debate about what’s worse: unbearably hot or freezing cold. Also, Harry Styles. 

It’s 4th of July Weekend and John talks American traditions, how you can’t bottle Elvis’ charisma in movie form, and living his McConaughey dream in a trailer on the driveway.

John answers a question about starting out post-college, tries dressing like Elvis in terry cloth, and wonders why we don’t act more like old Italians at weddings when attending grad parties.    

John celebrates Father’s Day sharing lessons from his dad while wondering if he should start wearing way more jewelry.   

John gets a great question off the golf course, talks about Harry Styles for way too long, and tries chislic while in Soo Foo, South Dakota.  

John followed the dead deer home from Wisconsin, talks country music and the need for more women’s bathrooms as he visits the cabin for Elderly weekend. 

John had a wild hair, and ended up performing most of his drinking routine in someone else’s home. He also shares how the Top Gun franchise has changed since 1986.

Mercury is in retrograde, as John battles with “the stoop,” and looks for wisdom at cabin bonfires, while wondering what doing a 90-degree back-in says about a person.  

John fights off the salvagers in his yard, and keeps reminding people that a sneeze is the next closest thing to an orgasm, for some reason. 

Karma or the Quality Inn gave John Covid. After a week in quarantine in the basement eating off paper plates, he shares a renewed wanderlust and need for newness.

John is stuck in a Quality (not really) Inn with a bad cold in Wichita Falls, Texas. While he was banged up, he still managed to record. Mostly because of Doritos at daycare.   

John pays a visit to his elementary school, and it stirs up some memories. He also wonders the long-term effects of no longer being able to trust a fart. 

John has an accident at the office, eats fries out of a bag in the car, and shares his love of country music.  

John is in Boston for the Frozen Four. A Gophers loss in the semis finds him at a Long Island Medium show, wondering how he can be laying on a dock or smoking a cigar in Boston Common. 

John looks to his high school yearbook signatures for wisdom, rebukes the Wrangler wave, and shares stories about boogers, Boston, and (Paige) Buckets.  

John has a starring role is some strange dreams, contemplates the meaning behind Perkins closing and encourages us to find the place we have both vision and confidence.  

John’s dog passes on a Cheeto, he ponders where all the butts have gone, and experiences St. Patrick’s Day back in full force. Plus, the Willie Nelson joke.
