1This coming new year is full of opportunities for you! The first, and most important, is your relationship with God. You start over right now! Maybe you've sinned in a way that you don't feel you can be forgiven. That's a lie from the enemy! God can and will forgive you if you'll simply humbly approach Him with a repentant heart.

The disciplined life of a disciple of Christ may seem daunting. There's a tendency in all of us to just coast...to just get by with doing what we've done the year before. Pastor Terry exhorts us today to allow the LORD to change and make us into the people that He's called us to be.

In this special New Year's message Pastor Terry helps us to see this coming year as not drudgery...but as another opportunity of time to grow and serve the LORD. Think back about the day when you were born again. Remember your life before? This is your testimony. Sharing where you were and where you are now is a powerful way to be a shining light in this dark world. Pastor Terry's exhortation is a good one. Life and death, life after death, the origin of humanity...all addressed in the Holy Word of God.

The symbolism that Pastor Terry was just eluding to is important to consider during this holiday season. Are you more enraptured by the traditions of the Christmas season than Jesus? Isn't this supposed to be the time when our Savior's birth is celebrated? Then why do we allow our traditions to get in the way?

God's plan of salvation began before the foundation of the world! And yet, in time as we know it, it began when God sent His only Son, Jesus to be born a man over two thousand years ago. And during this time of year we rejoice in the fact that God did this...that He sent His only son for you and for me!

Although we hear it in various Christmas songs, the fact that Jesus was born from a woman who was a virgin is an absolute miracle. This had never happened and it will never happen again! God conceived the Baby Jesus in Mary's womb so that He would be untainted by the seed of man...so that Adam's sin nature would NOT be passed on to Him.

The book of Galatians chapter six verses seven and eight says, 'Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit, will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.' A perfect example of the reality of consequences in our lives.

God incarnate is nearly impossible for us to understand. The Creator of the Universe took the form of man. But why? Jesus Christ came to this earth through virgin birth so that He might live a sinless life. His perfect life allowed for Him to be an acceptable sacrifice to God on our behalf...truly a miracle!

That's a question we all need to consider in our lives. Is there anything too hard for the LORD? Is He not the One who spoke and all that we know came into existence? Surely, He is able to help us with the things that we struggle with!

Today we begin considering intersession...what it means to intercede according to God's will and one of the best examples that we see in the Word of God of intersession, Abraham. Abraham interceded for those that lived in Sodom because of the impending judgment that was coming. This is how we ought to intercede for the lost.

Breaking bread with one another is a major way that we can enjoy fellowship. Stop and ask yourself, what are some of your most precious memories from your times of fellowship? Most likely, you're remembering meals that you've shared with your church family. There's just something special about eating with people of like minds.

Revival is a topic that fills bookstore shelves and packs out stadiums. But, what truly causes revival? As we just heard from Pastor Terry, true revival always begins with a move of committed prayer among God's people. So, why not start now? Why not begin interceeding for the lost and dying around you?

There will be no appeals when the judgment comes. Why? Because, unlike our justice system...there is no appeal with God...there is no higher court or judge that you could appeal to. The judgment of God is completely final one hundred percent binding. So, when that day comes, will you be ready to receive the verdict?

You might have heard someone say before, 'I can't wait to get to hell, all my friends will be there and it's going to be one big party.' Listen, my friend, this isn't true. Hell is a place of unthinkable torment and separation from God. And there is no one who can escape this destination...that is; no one who hasn't received Jesus as their Savior.

Did you hear that Christian? When we show kindness to others, it's just like showing kindness to Jesus. We don't always remember that when serving others...most of the time our second best is what's offered. So, the next time you have the opportunity to serve someone else, try keeping in mind that you're actually serving Jesus.

The world has all kinds of different methods to attempt to change a person's life. Most of these methods address the symptoms of a person's life rather than the core problem, which is sin. In order for a person to truly be changed, repentance must come first. Then, and only then, Jesus will begin affecting real and permanent change in that person's life.

Life long, personal change doesn't just happen. A person must be completely changed from the inside out for that to begin affecting their lives. Once, you've accepted Jesus as your LORD and Savior, He then begins making you into the person that He's created you to be...but it must begin with an internal heart change.

Is that you? Are you a young woman listening to Summons today...pregnant out of wedlock? Listen, God loves you and can and will forgive you if you'll cry out to Him. Don't listen to the lie of the enemy that your baby was a mistake and that you should commit murder by aborting your baby. There are other solutions!
