This week, Pastor Ricky will walk us through Passover and we will meet the God who is a deliverer. God delivers us from the world, the devil and the flesh, and does so by dealing out justice while making room for mercy. All God asks of us is that we are obedient to Him even when it might look a bit foolish.

In this message on Exodus 7-11, we’ll see that the ten “strikes” are God’s judgement on evil through acts of de-creation which reveal Yahweh as the ruler over all creation and point to his ultimate victory. We’ll also trace out some of the significant implications for us today.

What do you do with your discouragement? Where do you go when shaken to the core? When disillusionment settles over you? Exodus 6 pushes Moses to keep looking to God’s Name and Promises, calls him to feel the fear and inadequacy, and do what God calls him to “do it anyways.” We can as well when we remember that we are marked by his Name and led by his mighty hands.

When things don't go the way we had hoped for, it's easy to get discouraged and to ask, "Can God be trusted?" This week, we discover that yes, God can be trusted - both in terms of “when” and “how.” God is both the Sovereign LORD and the Hero. He shows up for his people in His timing.

As we look at Exodus 4 this week, we’ll see how Moses wrestles with the task Yahweh has called him to and talk about 1) learning to trust God; 2) how God works with our weakness; and 3) reckoning with the Holy Other.

This week, Pastor Ricky walks us through Exodus 3, outlining what it looks like when God shows himself. We can expect revelation, confrontation, and vocation or calling whenever God appears to us.

In this introduction to our series on Exodus, we’ll see how this book reveals God on God’s own terms, and functions as the central story of redemption until the coming of Jesus. We’ll also see how God keeps his promises and how he’ll keep keeping his promises, even today.

In this final message of the Ascribe series on worship, we see how the repeated practice of “remembrance” at the Table roots us in the true story, reassures us of Jesus’ presence with us, and reorients our lives to act in a cross-shaped ways.

This week, Pastor Gerald will guide an exploration of Psalm 95:1-7 and Colossians 3:16 to find three important reasons why it is important for us to sing together in church.

Worship and justice are deeply connected in the Bible, for the way God’s people live authenticates our worship. In this message we explore this connection and see how Jesus was deeply committed to bring freedom to the captives and good news to the poor.

Part of worship is giving our bodies back to God through physically demonstrating our praise. This week, Pastor Ricky addresses the three major objections to the physical aspects of Christian worship and encourages us to adopt a practice of worshipping with our bodies.

Good News is on the move. This Christmas Eve, we'll celebrate that the Light has come and how we are now called to carry this news with us.

This week, Pastor Dave will explore the topic of 'home' through the lectionary readings of Psalm 80, Isaiah 7:10-16, and Matthew 1:18-25. Through Jesus becoming the home we long for, we are invited to be a home for others. Finally, we are not yet fully ‘home’ as Advent reminds us we are waiting for Jesus to return.

This week, Pastor Ricky explores Advent as a season for repentance. Advent is a time to turn back towards love as we await the return of our Lord.

Advent is not just “extended Christmas” but a time to grow our hunger for the very reason Jesus came to us, and to long for his coming again. Here we see the need for “waiting” for God’s kingdom, “keeping watch”, and “waking up” to the way of life fitting to the light of Jesus.

In our final message, we’ll see how the book of Ruth offers a powerful corrective for those prone to lose the plot, reveals the significant role of women in God’s story of salvation, and pictures what it means to be a community who are oriented to compassion.

In Ruth 4, we see that Boaz, out of his loyal love, chooses to marry Ruth. And from this decision, history is changed. Boaz’s loyal love changes everything and our seemingly small acts of love have the power to change history as well.

In Ruth 3, we see Naomi “turn a corner” on her valid moment of grieving, where she now takes initiative to serve the interests of Ruth with loyal love. The initiative of Naomi, the boldness of Ruth, and the kindness of Boaz beautifully picture how God’s providence continues to transform this family in the wake of tragedy.

This week, Pastor Ricky shows us in Chapter 2 of Ruth that where there is loyal love, there God is also. Through Ruth, we see that God can work in the ordinary and with the ‘unworthy.’ Through Naomi, we see that God’s providence means the story isn’t over. Through Boaz, we see extravagant love, extravagant love that leads to God’s purposes for all people.

The book of Ruth intermingles tragedy with God’s providence, and the loyal-love that comes through community. We begin this series with a particular focus on the tragedy that befalls Naomi, and how the example of Ruth’s loyal love becomes a model for Jesus-followers of what committed care looks like.

God delights to speak in ways that go well beyond what mere words of explanation could every sufficiently convey. In this final message of our “Thinking Christianly” series, we’ll see how “aesthetic” or “beauty/art” are one of the key ways of “knowing” that the Christian faith recognizes, draws on, and ought to celebrate.

Pastor Ricky invites us to engage with tradition as a way of knowing—to consider ancient solutions to our modern problems. Trying to find a way between the dangers of dismissing the past and holding onto the past too tightly.

As we think about “Thinking Christianly” through our series, the Bible is a foundational resource that shapes our ‘knowing’. But what exactly does that mean? How does that work? We’ll see, particularly, how God’s authority is exercised through this text to shape and form the Scripture reading community to know Jesus and to be fully equipped for every good work.
