This week, Pastor Ricky explores the way technology can burden us with unrealistic expectations and invites us to see Jesus' invitation to be human—nothing more nor less.

This week, we will look at the burden of fear through the lens of Resurrection Hope found in Jesus. The perfect love of Jesus expressed through his life, death, and resurrection confronts and drives away our fears by securing our status in his eternal kingdom. One of the greatest burdens we often carry is the propensity to pride – to comparing and competing. Jesus intends to relieve us of this awful burden by bringing both our Judge and the One who is our Defense, who gives us a new verdict. We’ll look at how Paul models this life in 1 Corinthians 3-4 and demonstrates how to travel light.

This week, Dr. Frik Kruger explores how busyness in our lives distracts us from a deeper life-giving relationship with Jesus through the story of Martha and Mary found in Luke 10: 38-42. We will explore ways that we can return to that Peace that Jesus promises in Matthew 11: 28-30.

We live in a time and place where worry is often a marker of people's lives. How does worry work? And what can we do about it? Jesus' words invite us to ask ourselves some important questions that will help us put off the heavy burden of worry and take up the light yoke he has for us instead.

In this message we see how Jesus’ unburdens us of the insatiable drive for more – more money, more stuff, that can easily derail and enslave us. So, Jesus offers a stark choice: serve God or money. You can’t serve both. Through his own life, death, and resurrection, Jesus intends to make us a people who live for more than the bottom line – who live for the kingdom.

This week, Pastor Ricky explores the burden of anger and contempt. We'll see how human anger makes us act in haste and hold on to wrongs suffered. We'll learn how to take the space we need to process anger without hurting others and how to let go of wrongs suffered to live in greater freedom.

This week, Dr. Grant Del Begio will look at Paul’s encouragement in Ephesians 5 to imitate God as his well loved children. While this at first sounds intimidating, the focus is on learning to love well as we unload our backpacks of the idols, compulsions, and addictions we are all prone to carry.

This week, Pastor Ricky explores the burden of worldly sorrow in 2 Corinthians 7: 9-13. We learn that worldly sorrow perpetuates a cycle of sin when the voice of shame encourages us to turn away from Jesus. Godly sorrow breaks that cycle by turning to Jesus in repentance and letting his love grow us.

This week, as we continue to learn about travelling light, Pastor Gerald will focus on how, at God’s heart, his deep desire is for us to live as forgiven people and forgiving people.

As we begin our series “Travelling Light,” Jesus invites us to recognize the many ways that we are weary and burdened, and take on a new way of life: his way. At the very centre of this new way of life, of Jesus’ “yoke,” is deep communion with the Living God. We learn this way of life as we come to Jesus in trust.

This week, Pastor Ricky finishes our Exodus series by returning to what we mean when we say God. Exodus shows us a God who sees and hears the suffering, delivers us from evil, keeps His promises, and is with us.

In Exodus 33, we see the theme of God’s presence show up throughout this text. We discover that God’s presence is essential for his people Israel and essential for us today. Like Moses, when we want God, we will know God’s presence more fully.

Exodus 32-33, the golden calf event, has sometimes been called “The Fall of Israel” as it parallels “The Fall” of all humanity in Genesis 3. In this message, we’ll see how idolatry breaks us and how Jesus allows himself to be broken to heal us.

This week, we explore the building of the Tabernacle and see a God who wants to be with us, wants our hearts, and invites us to do beautiful things for Him.

Pastor Gerald guides our look at the ‘covenant code’ and we see how God meets us where they are but doesn’t leave us there. He guides his people to a better way of living, thinking, and behaving – becoming a light and a blessing to everyone, and honouring him as his treasured possession.

Pastor Ricky explores God’s Top Ten for the Abundant Life. We see here, a God who gives us the freedom to be in relationship with Him and to live according to what He values.

God designed us to need each other. We see in Exodus 17-18 that being God’s People means we support each other as we depend on God to fight our battles, fill us with his wisdom, and share the work of making disciples of Jesus.

Exodus 16 tells the story of how God miraculously provides food for the Israelites in the wilderness. Sometimes God leads us into the wilderness too, but it is there that we learn to trust God for our daily needs and to practice the virtue of hope.

The song in Exodus 15 celebrates God’s gracious work for God’s people. We now ‘live in the story’ as we also sing with joyful response to God’s grace, and speak similar words as personal declaration, as an exercise of hope, a way to dethrone false ‘gods’, and in anticipation of God’s future.

This week, Pastor Ricky walks us into the crossing of the Red Sea. Through the circuitous journey this starts for the Israelites we can see that God often grows us the hard way.

“Is it all going to be okay?” This question is whirring away just under the surface for all of us. How do we answer that for ourselves and those we care for? In Matthew’s resurrection account, we see that Hope has a History, a Horizon, and a Name.

This Good Friday, Pastor Ricky will talk us through how the Cross is God’s Self-Portrait confirming the words Moses heard in Exodus 34:6-7—The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, keeping love for thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet, He does not let the guilty go unpunished.

As Holy Week begins, Pastor Gerald will guide our traditional Palm Sunday reflection on Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. We see Jesus revealing himself as King - Not the king that was expected, not necessarily the king we want, but we will be invited to contemplate how Jesus, the King who comes to us gentle, is the King we need.
