Ben and Eric talk with Eric Glickman, the author of “Camp Pock-a-Wocknee and the Dynomite Summer of '77”. This is a phenomenal (adult) graphic novel that encapsulates so many of the themes we’ve explored on the Summer Camp Chronicles: heroic counselors, embarrassing moments, camp romance, toilet mishaps and all manner of hijinks.

We’ve all seen the movies: Heavyweights, Meatballs, Wet Hot American Summer. They make camp seem like it’s all about sex, drugs and rock & roll -- with an alarming lack of adult supervision. But that’s just fiction. Or is it? On this episode, three guests share their stories about stuff that happened at camp “back in the day”, all of which make Ben & Eric very uncomfortable.

Camp can feel like an alternate reality - one that's totally removed from the real world. But the truth is that camp life is real life and, as we all know, s#@% often happens when we least expect it. On this episode, we hear about some bathroom-related incidents at camp, and take a deep dive into Ben's bowel habits.

On a whim, Geoff took a job as a counselor at an American camp in 1977 ... Forty three years later, he still works at that camp. In this interview, Geoff talks to Eric and Ben about why he left behind a promising career as a chemist and what camp has meant to him over the years.

Eric begins his camp saga and introduces the audience to a couple of very fascinating characters. This is the year that the meaning of camp came to fruition in Eric's life, and a lifelong friendship blossomed.
