Strange Highways

This week we continue our detours by heading back to the Masters of Horror series and watch the second episode that John Carpenter directed, Pro-Life. A young girl is needing help and ends up at a family planning clinic with her father not far behind trying to get her back. Soon the clinic is under siege by forces man made and supernatural... 

This week Terry and Paul take a detour back to 1971 and visit Steven Spielberg's first film, Duel. Based upon a short story by Richard Matheson, it is a tale of how one random encounter can lead to a deadly game of cat and mouse on a two lane road in the middle of nowhere... 

This week Terry and Paul take a detour into some more Black Mirror with the season 6 episode, Demon 79. Nida lives a quiet life selling shoes in a department store. One day, after being forced to eat her lunch in the basement due to her terrible coworker's complaints, Nida finds a strange talisman that may or may not cause the world to end... 

This week Terry and Paul are joined by friend of the show Richard to take a look back across season one of the 80's iteration of the Twilight Zone. They cover their Bottom 5, Middlin'/Frustrating 5, and Top 5 segments of the season.  Thanks to everyone that has joined us in this very long journey through this season. 1 down, 2 to go!

She is surrounded by books but it forbidden from ever reading any of them. When she realizes that each book has a person's name on it, she can't resist seeing what's behind the cover... 

This week Terry and Paul go back to 1876 and meet the members of the Devil's Alphabet, a group of privileged soon to be college graduates that decide that they should meet once a year for eternity. What was a symbolic pledge takes a turn when members that have passed away keep attending the gathering... 

This week Terry and Paul meet the popular comedian Mr. Billy Diamond just as he is leaving a successful talk show gig. Billy then has a confrontation that puts him in front of a much different audience and his only way out is to have a hell of a show...  

This week Terry and Paul head up north, way north, and meet Colonel Ulyanov, a KGB agent that is sent to investigate the mysterious deaths of two party members. He finds a small town with no daylight and a lot to hide in the darkness...

This week Terry and Paul hitch a ride with Mr. Johnny Davis, a professional truck driver that has had one too many accidents and is in need of a new job. He is given one last chance to drive, but he may like the destination... 

This week Terry and Paul ride their sweet bikes with baseball cards in the spokes and meet a trio of teens that tackle a leprechaun against his will. He grants them three wishes, one a piece, and they find out that what they want may not be all that it is cracked up to be... 

This week Terry and Paul tune in to listen to the most recent episode of the Dick Noble: African Explorer. What starts off as a regular live radio show starts taking turns for the weird when the sounds effects start coming to life... 

This week Terry and Paul are standing on a sidewalk giggling when they Mr. Rockne O'Bannon, a successful television writer that feels he hasn't an original idea in years. When he starts seeing little hooded figures wherever he goes, no believes his fantastic tale...  

This week Terry and Paul are joined by guest Richard as they all refuse to walk down that long hallway were Gramma is lying in bed wanting her tea in the only Stephen King adaptation that the Twilight Zone ever produced...  

This week Terry and Paul thaw out 324 years later and meet Mr. Matthew Foreman, a man from the far off year of 2023 that was woken up by the future society because of his knowledge of technology. He wonders if that was their only reason for waking him...

This week Terry and Paul mosey along to the middle of nowhere and end up in Winfield, a decidedly older looking small town with people that don't trust outsiders. Soon a stranger appears all dressed in white looking to collect on an account that is overdue... 

This week Terry and Paul try to run as far away as possible from this episode. A comedy that has no comedy and it is about as painful as a root canal, Tooth and Consequences might be one of the worst segments of the 80's Twilight Zone so far... 

This week Terry and Paul go get some Ham and Bean soup and meet Mr. Mitchell Chaplin, who has been convicted of the crime of coldness towards his fellow man and has been sentenced to one year of invisibility. Can Mitchell survive 365 days without any meaningful interaction with anyone whatsoever...

This week Terry and Paul wander around an abandoned factory and meet two brothers, Will and Roger, who are there looking for their father. He comes here twice a year to check on his 'experiment' and has not returned home...
