Dr. Lindsey Darvin joined the podcast to chat about her tweet on Megan Rapinoe and Alabama football, the message behind it, and why it has been so popular with other members on Twitter. We also talked about starting a research project, choosing topics/themes/research partners, and other important steps.

Kicking off Season 2! We brought Sam Schmidt in to talk about eSport. We talked about defining eSport, platforms, streaming providers, important stakeholders, Sam's involvement in eSport as a college coach, and eSport changes coming in the future. We also chatted about sport management research on eSport and topics that are ripe for examining eSport moving forward.

Sayvon Foster joined us to talk about his first-year PhD experience at Texas A&M University. First, we talked about the application process and deciding factors. Then we dived into the first year of the doctoral experience, including first classes, toughest/easiest, and advice for those starting in the fall.

Amanda Paule-Koba joined the podcast to discuss being a faculty member at a hybrid institution. Main topics discussed include teaching, research, and service expectations, strengths/weaknesses compared to R1 positions, and misconceptions of hybrid jobs. We also chatted about Amanda's co-editor role at the new journal, Journal of Athlete Development and Experience (JADE).

This was the original episode of State of Sport Management podcast with guest Mary Hums. We discussed "what is sport management?", talked about common differences within programs, different college homes, and other distinctions.

Jennifer Gellock re-joins the show to talk about her job search conclusion. Earlier in the year, Jennifer discussed the beginning stages of her job search. Now that Jennifer has accepted a job offer, she returns to chat about her experience, what went well, what didn't go well, and recommendations for those entering the job search next fall.

Our next episodes provides a second perspective of pursuing a job opportunity in the international market. Mike Naraine, Lecturer at Deakin University, talked about the job search, interview process, negotiations, and moving. Plus, with NASSM coming up, we also talked about attending the conference and how conference participation changes as you get older.

Our next guest was Kwame Agyemang, newly minted Associate Professor at Louisiana State University. He talked about the tenure process, approval system, publication expectations, and some recommendations on how he would change the tenure process.

Our newest episode brought in Adam Cohen to talk about the international job market. Adam is a Texas A&M graduate who worked state-side for a handful of years before taking a faculty job at University of Technology Sydney in Australia. Our fourth episode continued our discussion on the sport management doctoral experience. Sarah Williams was kind enough to join us and talk about her dissertation experience. We talked about choosing a topic and committee members. We also talked about biggest challenges and advice for those starting their dissertation.

Our third episode is dedicated to the PhD sport management student experience.
