Dr. Nicole Melton joined the podcast to chat about doing research with undergraduate and graduate students. Dr. Kathy Babiak joined us to talk about interdisciplinary research! We talked about her research process for a topic that its on sport management and another discipline (e.g., business), seeking out collaborators, deciding on journals, writing style, and other guidance!

Dr. Matthew Katz joined us to talk about juggling research projects. He took a snapshot of projects he was working on back in December 2019 and gave us an update on their progress, timelines, lessons learned, etc. We also chatted about communicating with collaborators and how to decide which projects need to be prioritized.

Dr. Nefertiti Walker joined us to talk about the mentor-mentee relationship. We started by discussing the mentors and guidance she received during the doctoral student experience. We talked about being a "straight shooter" with doc students and silent mentors. Then we transitioned to her current role as a mentor to others in the field.

This episode welcomes Stacy Warner talking about her role as North American Society of Sport Management (NASSM) Conference Manager. She overviews her yearly role of prepping for the conference, activities during the conference, and post-event responsibilities. We also talked about NASSM's timeline & decision to move the 2020 conference online.

Season 3 is kicked off with Alison Doherty! Dr. Doherty joined us to talk about the importance of theory within research and the field of sport management. Discussion included what is theory, it's importance to research, and how it fits within the teaching and service.

Dr. Natalie Smith of East Tennessee State joined us to talk about creativity and innovation within sport management. We talked about how to implement that into the classroom and research. We also chatted about the sport management job market and people who changed jobs this past year.

Sayvon Foster joined us again to talk about doctoral experience. His second appearance provided an overview of his second year as a doc student. We talked about his progress in teaching, research, and service.

We're back! Dr. Maddy Orr from SUNY-Cortland joined us to talk about sport ecology. She discussed the concept of sport ecology, The Sport Ecology Group, research happening within the field, curriculum applications, and more!
