In Star Wars some things have been made canon whereas others have been left in legends. In the canon novel Lords of the Sith, we see Darth Vader speak in the ancient Sith tongue to Palpatine. The book is followed by "Tarkin" which I recommend, as well. I wonder if in Star Wars The Last Jedi we'll see Luke learn the ancient Sith language, now that he's so obsessed with all things ancient and force...
