In Star Wars The Force Awakens, Snoke reveals the title of the Last Jedi, as well as revealing that is Skywalker returns, the NEW Jedi will rise. This most likely indicates that Luke Skywalker is not the Jedi in Rise of Skywalker who will be the one to rise. I believe he insists on it being Kylo Ren (maybe Rey but doubtful). In Star Wars Episode 2 Attack of the Clones, Anakin Skywalker is so upset after the loss of Shmi Skywalker on Tatooine to the Tusken Raiders. He blames Obi-Wan Kenobi for holding him back...but...according to the novelization, there was a lot more added in that scene which gives more clairvoyance to the scene.
