Pastor David Smith continues the study of Hebrews, beginning in chapter 10 verse 19.

Hebrews 10:1-18 brings to a close the author’s focus on Jesus Christ as our High Priest and all He has done for us as He sprinkles His own blood to atone for our sins. He closes with God’s precious promise, "I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.” Thanks be to God!

As we finish chapter 7 and move into chapter 8, the author of Hebrews continues to point us to our great High Priest, Jesus Christ.  For He has not only saved us completely but intercedes for us forever.  True comfort for his audience then and us now.

An important theme of Hebrews is that Jesus Christ is our eternal High Priest. In chapter 7 we hear that His priesthood is not after the order of Levi as in Old Testament Israel. His priesthood is in the order of Melchizedek by His Father’s decree in Psalm 110:4. What does this mean and what are the implications of this? Today we discuss this mysterious figure-Melchizedek.

Pastor David Smith leads the Bible study on Hebrews 5 and 6. At the close of Hebrews 5 and through chapter 6, the author is warning his hearers not to turn from the faith.  At the same time he is encouraging them to grow in their faith through the Word and believe in the promises of God abiding in hope.

Pastor David Smith leads a study on Hebrews 2:10-18. In these verse we have two important titles God gives to His Son: Founder of their salvation and merciful and faithful High Priest. We will see God’s plan of salvation and how He worked that plan through His Son, Jesus Christ.

In the books of Hebrews, we now hear God speaking to His Son at His enthronement. Our unknown author now says that it is critical to hear the Son’s word lest they go astray. For the Son is the Founder of our salvation.

Today we begin the study of Hebrews.  The unknown author makes it clear that God speaks to us by the Son.  Then we read just who the Son really is in all His majesty and glory.
