Spoil Me

Thank you to Heather for commissioning this episode! In these final chapters, I find out that my theory on Aftermath keeping Lilly alive secretly is not what's going on, and I'm deeply disappointed that she's actually dead. Meanwhile, Jordan and Jason have a talk and basically decide that they're going to defect and create a squad of their own, since obviously McIntyre can't be trusted at all. But...

Thank you again so much to Max for commissioning this episode! So this episode is the one where Al gets kidnapped because he got a little cocky about being able to handle a real sketchy crowd that lures him into an alley. Turns out that the one that heads this little gang is Greed, and he's surprised to meet someone who is just a soul bound to armor, even though this is definitely not as unusual a...

Thank you to Max for commissioning this episode! In this installment of The Elric Brothers Reflect On Their Mysterious Past, we find out only a TINY bit more about what the deal is with their father, and I don't mind telling you all that I hate the man already. He seems like a real piece of shit and I'm not looking forward to finding out all the ways he's let his kids down in addition to abandonin...

Thank you to Max for commissioning this episode! This episode is when our friends arrive at Rush Valley, the center of all things Automail, and there's a pickpocket there who is saving money up to pay back a man who has always refused to accept any money from her in the past. Which is a bulletproof plan that makes total sense. Also, a lady goes into labor and Winry's can-do attitude gets her a spo...

Thank you to Heather for commissioning this episode! In these chapters, we've got a major confrontation with Aftermath and Lillly going head-to-head in the streets, and and this is followed by a confrontation between Aftermath and Ethan going head-to-head on a Zoom call. It seems like maybe Ethan has been a lot shadier than he's let on, and perhaps Aftermath has some more valid points than I thoug...

Max, this is the second time that I'm going to be cursing you instead of thanking you for commissioning this damn show. Why would you do this to me. Poor Hughes.

Thank you to Max for commissioning this episode! This is the episode where Al deals with his suspicions about being a created, artificial being that Ed invented and filled with fictional memories. I was sad that the bad guy managed to get under Al's skin so much, but I'm glad that it's been dealt with so quickly, although I wouldn't have been mad about it if they stretched it out a little longer....

Thank you so much to Heather for commissioning this episode! I'm back with the team, and there's all kinds of interesting developments. It turns out that humanity is actually a back-up colony of less advanced Incarna, in case all of them die in the war with the Jenagyr. That's kind of rude, and I'm offended. But also, I like that there's potential for me to eventually have powers in this equation....

Thank you so much to Max for commissioning this episode! This episode is the one where the boys face off with the two hollow suits of armor that area inhabited by the souls of serial killers. In Ed's case, he's nearly bested simply because his arm gives out, while Al is being psychologically attacked in a way I never expected. Thanks for listening, and I will see you soon with a new episode!

Thank you so much to Max for commissioning this episode! In this episode we find out that one of the key ingredients required to make the Philosopher's Stone is a human life, which I am pretty sure most of us had figured already. Meanwhile, the sweet summer children who are guarding Ed and Al seem totally surprised that the government would EVER be involved in something like that. LOL.

Thank you Max for commissioning this episode! This is the one where our dudes go get their metal parts repaired by Pinako and Winry, and Ed zeros in on an alchemist who has successfully made some close approximations of the Philosophers Stone. CLOSE. But not quite. I get mad at Ed.

Thank you to Max for commissioning this episode! This time around, we're talking about the State Alchemist Murderer, AKA Scar, and how he's really pretty much totally justified in his desire for revenge, no matter what Ed may say. Also, Hawkeye should be in charge and Mustang needs to be demoted. Thanks for listening!

Thank you again to Max for commissioning this episode. I guess. Actually, no. I hate you, Max. I really do. I hate all of you.

Thank you very much to Jacqui for commissioning this episode! I'm really happy with the ambiguity of the way this story ends, and as usual Brando Sando's worldbuilding is impeccable. As Jacqui also pointed out in the chat, it's great to see how far he has come in terms of making complex and compelling women characters, which is really encouraging. Thank you all for listening, and I will see you ag...

Thank you Max for commissioning this episode! I hadn't expected for things to get theological in this show, and the focus on a church and priest in this episode surprised me. There's also a faithful follower who gets a very unpleasant dose of reality after believing for a long time that her dead fiance can be brought back to life, and I honestly feel really bad for her. Thanks so much for listenin...

Thank you so much to Max for commissioning this episode! So we're getting into it now, and I'm taken by surprise when we get into the story behind what happened to Ed and Al. Turns out that Ed was the one at fault for sure, although most of what actually happens regarding to the rebound was not what I was expecting. I'm so freaked out by this weird parallel world and the being that Ed spoke to. An...

Thank you so much to Max for commissioning this episode! I'm so excited to finally be starting this series, and despite warnings that the first episode isn't that great, I really enjoyed it and was pleasantly surprised at how immediately engaged I was by the plot and the universe. However, I have a LOT of questions about what happened to Ed and Al. Thanks so much for listening, and I will see you...

Thank you to Yama for commissioning this episode! In this chapter, there's a totally bizarre turn of events in which the Hesper, which I think we were all anticipating would be complicated and difficult to reach, winds up walking right up to our people with no fanfare whatsoever. TWIST! Thanks for listening!

Thank you to Yama for commissioning this episode! This chapter is the one in which our crew that's still on the Yaldiv's planet put on their costumes and infiltrate the main hive to get closer to the Hesper. None of this goes the way I expected all, and it turns out that the King knows that they're there, and that they aren't working for the Lone One. What?! I truly can't imagine how this continue...

Thank you very much to Jacqui for commissioning this episode! Brando Sando wrote what I think a short story although it's not that short, so perhaps it technically qualifies as a novella. It's a really enthralling story so far, and I'm a little sad that there's only one more episode's worth of coverage. However, this gives me a bit of a peek into the other universes that I haven't seen in my cover...

Thank you so much to Patricia for commissioning this episode! This chapter is a really high-octane for this series, with an actual shoot-out that happens in the apparently abandoned Crossings. Not only that, but we get a rescue from someone that I was definitely not expecting to show up here. And it is AWESOME. Thanks so much for listening!

Thank you so much to Candace for commissioning this episode! This is the second Makota Shinkai film that Candace has commissioned, and apparently he's working on a third one that I'm hoping to get to cover eventually. I have to admit tho, this film didn't work for me nearly as well at Your Name because the ending felt like it didn't really know what it wanted to be. Shinkai made some statements ab...

Thank you ever so much to Joyce for commissioning this episode, and especially for commissioning me and RoShawn to cover it together. I will let this episode speak for itself. Enjoy!

Thank you to Patricia for commissioning this episode! This chapter is the one that has made me the most nervous so far. We are finding out that a whole planet is populated by beings that are not JUST overshadowed, but are literal avatars of the Lone Power. I honestly don't even know what to do with this information. Also, there's the whole thing with Nita's father being totally MIA (not to mention...

Thank you so very much to Heather for commissioning this episode! I'm delighted that we're getting into some really unexpected territory here, but also I was so unprepared for this shit to actually WORK that now I'm a little bit freaked out. I mean, Elgen Spears can be an evil genius all he wants when he's just TRYING to do something...but him SUCCEEDING? No, I don't like that at all. This is wher...
