Spoil Me

Thank you to Max for commissioning this entire series! It's wild to wrap up this series after what feels like such a long run, but I found this finale to be pretty satisfying as far as endings go, even though not all the loose ends were entirely tired up. I'm really interested in whether this author goes on to write anything more in this universe. Thank you all so much for listening, and I hope to...

Thank you so much to Andy for commissioning this episode! I only got to read one single solitary chapter this week because it was such a long one, but it was definitely a doozy. This is the chapter where we go into the POV of a young woman who works in metal shop in a town that has been taken over by the Silent King, and it's very fucking creepy. Dross shows up to save her, which is somehow not le...

Thank you to Asher for commissioning this episode! Lucan actually sits down with Yala and talks this all out, and she's actually able to guide him over to seeing his side of things! Which does not last, because Shera cuts to the quick of things and asks who he trusts more: Yala or the Emperor? So now I'm wondering if they're actually the ones who set the Regents free, or if that's just a red herri...

Thank you so much to Max for commissioning this episode! It's almost over, y'all. We get a really surprising turn of events here, and I'm shocked to be feeling sort of sad for the Dwarf in the flask, because he seems genuinely baffled at how he fucked up and I don't feel like Truth's explanation is super helpful. Also, Al gets his body back! WAHOO!

Thank you to Andy for commissioning this episode! I'm FINALLY here with the next book in the Cradle series, and I could not be more excited. Thanks so much to you all for listening, and I will see you soon with a new episode!

Thank you so much to Asher for commissioning this episode! These are the chapters in which we discover that Kellerac has been working with the Consultants for literally thousands of years, and I'm now highly suspicious of Yala. I assume she's fully working with Elders at this point. Although, what if she's not? What if she's just an unwitting pawn, like Calder? Nah. Thanks for listening, and I wil...

Thanks so much to Asher for commissioning this episode! These are the chapters in which Shera gets an elixir from the head of the Alchemist's guild that can turn her into a champion for a few hours, albeit with some side-effects. Also, we get a flashback to a scene in which Shera tries to get a job done without casualties, and a gang comes to ruin it. Thanks for listening, and I will see you soon...

Thank you to Max for commissioning this episode! So this is the one where Father makes entire whole human beings appear out of his chest, and I am ready to throw a scarf over my TV screen so that I don't have to look at that shit anymore because EWWW. In other news, Al sacrifices himself to give his brother his arm back in a move that I admire but do not agree with. I'm always going to vote for Al...

Thank you so much to Max for commissioning this episode! This is the one where Father inhales the souls of everyone in Amestris, and we get a horrible visual of all the people in the city collapsing as their souls are pulled towards his mouth, and I hate it. Meanwhile there's the fight still going on with Scar and Wrath, and things go in a surprising direction. Thanks for listening, and I will see...

Thank you so much to Asher for commissioning this episode! In these chapters we get to find out even more about the way the Consultants started out, and I'm suddenly extremely fucking paranoid about Yala's connection with Elders. I'm really worried that Shera's in even more danger than before, although there's the possibility that Yala isn't as corrupt as I'm immediately suspecting. Thanks for lis...

Thank you to Max for commissioning this episode! So....apparently Father wants to eat God. I did not see this coming.

Thank you so much to Heather for commissioning this episode! We're almost at the end, folks, and I'm over here rooting for Brian to bite people's heads off and shit. If I read that sentence at the beginning of this book, I would REALLY have thought that meant something else entirely. Thank you all so much for listening, and I will see you soon with a new episode!

Thank you to Max for commissioning this episode! This is the episode where we find out that Roy was kind of fucking with Gold Tooth and had no intention of performing the human transmutation. However, it turns out that they can force him to do it, and I do not think that's fair at all. At this point, it seems like the price is blindness, and that's even less fair. Thank you all for listening, and...

Thank you to Max for commissioning this episode! So this is the one where Father and Hempstool face off, and Hempstool really thinks that he's got a great plan for taking Father down. Turns out, he has dramatically underestimated the evolution that Father has undergone, and the attack he so carefully planned doesn't work at all. Also, our guys get gripped up and pulled through the portal again, al...

Thank you so much to Yama for commissioning this episode! This is the last episode of Young Wizards for the time being, and since in the chat Yama expresses some interest in perhaps doing a bulk commission of the next book. If that doesn't pan out in a couple months, I will try reading them on my own and sharing my thoughts in the Discord. I really liked the way this book ended, and I have a lot o...

Thank you so much to Max for commissioning this episode! So we've got the big fight here between Greed and Wrath, and while they're going hammer and tongs on the rooftop, we have the crew with the Armstrongs and Izumi inside dealing with the last of the immortal soldiers, and then coming across one of the generals that was in on the plan. This fucking guy is trying to argue his position and Izumi...

Thank you very much to Max for commissioning this episode! This is the episode where Wrath decides that enough is enough, and he is here to completely fuck up everyone's day. Thank you all so much for listening, and I will see you soon with a new episode!

Thank you so much to Max for commissioning this episode! This is the episode where our people seem successful and they begin to celebrate...only to realize that the Fuhrer is standing in doorway. Thank you all so much for listening, and I will see you again soon with a new episode!

Thank you very much to George for commissioning this episode! So these are the chapters where we get to see the moment in which a Great Elder summons Calder and all of his crew to his weird little headquarters and states some absolute facts to them, but Andel is quick to point out that facts are not necessarily the same as truth. Thanks so much to you all for listening, I'm so excited to start the...

Thank you to Max for commissioning this episode! So this is the episode where Envy is finally defeated, and there's a lot about this that I have a hard time with, but then some ideas that I like a lot. First of all, there's the concept that Roy is taking his anger to a level that makes him seem like a monster, which I'm not really in agreement on. But then, the idea that Envy's name comes from an...

Thank you to George for commissioning this episode! In these chapters, we're getting Calder essentially telling Kellerac to fuck off and that he's not making any further deals with him. It's interesting to me that Kellerac seems to be a little bit more desperate to make things happen than he has in the past, which makes me super suspicious. What's going on, K? You slippin? Thanks for listening, an...

Thank you to George for commissioning this episode! These are the chapters where we go back and see the way that Calder meets Urzaia, and it's under way way different circumstances than I had expected. I had assumed he met Urzaia at the fighting pits, but it turns out that Urzaia was arrested for rebelling against direct orders from the Emperor. Which suits Calder just fine. Thanks for listening,...

Thank you to Max for commissioning this episode! In this episode, Roy goes up against Envy and everyone seems to be really concerned with Roy's treatment of Envy but personally I was lowkey into it because Envy is kind of the meanest out of all homunculi. Also, there's a wonderful bit where Envy turns into Hughes and it goes SO MUCH BETTER than it has in other episodes. Thank you to everyone for l...

Thank you to George for commissioning this episode! So these are the chapters where Calder & Co. finally catch up to Lucan and they have a confrontation where Lucan shows off his incredible abilities, which makes his death seem even more of a waste. Fucking Jyrene, tho. I'm really so frustrated with her, and I'm not sure how she sees this playing out but I don't think there's any possibility of a...
