Luke 5:27-32 Jesus got himself killed because of the people he hung out with and ate with. Levi was one of those people. A tax collector. A sinner. A person completely unworthy of God. But then again, aren't we all? When we lose sight of our need, we cease to be people who hold out the hope of the gospel to others.

Matthew 5:17-20 Jesus says that his followers must have a righteousness that surpasses that of the Pharisees. What does that mean and how can it become a reality?

2 Samuel 7:1-17 David begins this section of scripture by telling God that he is going to build him a house... God responds by informing David that he is not going to build anything FOR him, but rather that God was going to build something THROUGH David.

2 Samuel 5 Influence. We all have it in varying degrees. Some have influence at work. Others have it in the home. Still, other have it in their neighborhoods and with friends. There is a weight to influence - a weight that can crush us if we are not ready for it.
