It can be so easy to cling on to the expectations we set on how things should play out, especially in the lives of our kids. It can feel difficult to find yourself feeling like you lost something all because life didn’t play out exactly like you thought it would. Sometimes we have to grieve the expectations we had and allow ourselves to accept that we shouldn’t have set any expectations at all.

Today I read a poem I wrote and I go into how easy it can be to chip away parts of ourselves to change how we are perceived and why it’s so important to not do that. I also talk about the magic in surrendering.
