Our message today comes from 1 Timothy 3:15-16 where Paul is writing to the young pastor, Timothy, encouraging him to continue to proclaim, defend and pass on the Gospel.  Are we doing the same? Are we sharing the Gospel? Are we sharing the truth of who Jesus Christ is and what he has done for us?

In Acts 19:21 - 20:1, Paul is preparing to leave Ephesus after being there for 3 years. The Gospel was spreading across Asia and this angered many people. As Paul was preparing to leave a riot breaks out in Ephesus. This week we read of Paul's journey into Ephesus where he finds some disciples of God. He inquires about their relationship with Jesus, Paul introduces them to Jesus the presence of the Holy Spirit. Paul's ministry grows in Ephesus and he worked many miracles and spread the gospel. Jesus Chris is the only way to be saved, to grow and to get to heaven. There is no other way.   

Paul travels from Athens to Corinth on his journey. While in Corinth Paul has a vision from the Lord, the Lord tells him, "Do not be afraid; keep on spreaking, do not be silent. For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city." This week the sermon is from Acts 17, verses 16-34. Paul travels to Athens to share the gospel. Paul was provoked the idolatry that he witnessed in Athens. Paul began to preach and share about God as the Creator, how God interacts with the human race and the truth about God's presence and work in the world.     

Paul & Silas minister in Thessalonica. Paul preaches the gospel and it angers the unbelieving Jews. They escape and move on to Berea & Athens to continue sharing the message of the gospel.  Paul was willing to share the gospel and trusted God in every circumstance. Are you? God wants your availability, your willingness to share.    

This week we hear about Paul and Silas being beaten and thrown in prison. In the middle of the night while worshipping and singing to God there is an earthquake and the doors of the prison are opened. That night Paul and Silas save the Philippian jailer and his family.  This is a beautiful story of hope, rescue, forgiveness and love. We are back in Acts today, after a few weeks off. In Acts 14:1-18 we see Paul and Barnabas preaching in Iconium and Lystra. Paul and Barnabas were boldly preaching the gospel in spite of the Jews' opposition and persecution. The gospel was still preached and the Holy Spirit was working in many hearts.   

The sermon today is from Proverbs 8. As it says in verses 10-11, " Choose my instruction instead of silver, k nowledge rather than choice gold,  for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her." Pastor Kevin shares with us why seeking out wisdom is necessary for the Christian. When we find wisdom we find life and favor from the Lord. 

Today's sermon is a celebration of the beauty of adoption.  In God's great kindness you are adopted as His children, because He chose to love you and adopt you and make you His heir. Just as when Christian families choose to adopt a child into their family, God welcomes us into His family when we become saved. Praise be to the Lord!  

Pastor is preaching about life in a fallen world and what our goal as Christians should be. We should be living a life that honors Jesus Christ. This is particularly important in the family of believers.
