In our message today we learn about young Timothy and the advice his mentor, the apostle Paul gave to him.  Three pieces of advice from the message: Be teachable, never think you know more than everyone else. Be bold, use your God-given talents with confidence. Be an example, live a life that honors Christ.

Dead to Sin and Alive to God! After the resurrection you are no longer associated with Adam, you are now identified with Christ. You alive in Christ, not dead in Adam.  Sin is not your master, you are no longer a slave to sin. You now walk with Christ and become known by your righteousness. 

Today we read from John 20, Jesus defeats death and sin in His resurrection. Believe for eternal life. 

The Good Friday sermon.  Pastor recounts the events in John 19 where Jesus is crucified. Jesus received the punishment that each of us deserved. 

This is the fourth sign in the book of John which demonstrates Jesus' power over creation while also emphasizing His compassion.  Jesus is the bread of life, He confronted the people as to what they truly wanted. He knows they do not truly believe.  What kind of bread do you long for? Will you believe in Jesus? 

In Matthew 4 Jesus is tempted after being in the wilderness for 40 days. Jesus in human form is in a very vulnerable place, tired and hungry, but He does not give in to temptation. Jesus obeys and relies on God's Word. This is a demonstration for us, a way to help us when tempations and trials come upon us.   

We read in Matthew 3 today about Jesus' baptism by John the Baptist. Jesus stepped out of obscurity into the way to become our Savior. Jesus teaches us humility by submitting to baptism, the plan of God, and the salvation of the world.   

Paul provides encouragement and instruction to the church in Thessalonica. As believers today we can use this encouragement to help us as we stand under life's pressures. Stand fast, remember what you know and what you have learned from God's Word. Receive God's eternal encouragement and hope while you depend upon His comfort for your inner man and strength to say and do what you need to do.  

1 Thessalonians 4:13 says, "But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope." Using the book of John Pastor shows us how Jesus loved and served the disciples before his impending crucifixion. Jesus shared the importance of love. Love God supremely and your neighbors sincerely. These actions will allow us to handle...

The comfort of God and the presence of God are inseperable. God is in the midst of everything and provides you with a purpose. God meets you with mercy and comfort when you need it and then your purpose is to turn around and share that experience with others.  Comfort begins and ends with God. He loves you, He walks with you, He never leaves you, never forsakes you. 

How do we stand, when we do not understand? Paul tells us we live for the future, we do not live for today. Daily living for God's glory:  1. Choose to live for God's please, God's glory. 2. Evaluate everything you do against our greater purpose. Ask yourself, "Is this God honoring?" 3. Walk  in the Spirit. Allow the Spirit to grow your desire for the future. 

Walk in love and imitate God. Abstain from evil in all you say and do. In order to imitate God we live and love as Jesus did.    **Please forgive some sound issues at the beginning of the sermon, around the 5:30 mark you can hear Pastor Kevin clearly. 

You need to contemplate the love of Christ that passes all understanding.  When you contemplate and meditate on it, it motivates, it helps and it brings change. The more you know about the love of Christ the more you're going to hate the things that don't honor Him. The more it will impact you and motivate you to change and walk a life pleasing to the Lord. 

Rememer who you were, what you lacked? You used to be far off, but now you are brought near. You are brought near by the blood of Christ.  Our union with Christ gives us new relationships, we are no longer slaves and foreigners, we are fellow citizense with the saints. We are members of the household of God.  

God is responsible for your salvation. God acted simply because of His own gracious and merciful character. You were created in Christ to accomplish good works. 

Who doesn't want to be happy? Delight and meditate on God's Word. Let God's Word guide you in your planning, in your lifestyle and in your values. 

There are some pauses in the audio of the sermon this week due to some issues during recording. Where is the priority of the Son, Jesus Christ in our lives? Is the Son our focus in our life? in our relationships? 

What motivates you to worship? God's majesty is highlighted throughout the Bible, because of who God is our response should be worship. God is worthy of the praise of the universe because He reigns, He provides and He judges. This is why we should respond with worship. God's majesty should impact how we think, our feelings, our speech and our actions, God's majesty should impact everything we do!...

Jesus, God's perfect gift to mankind in the perfect timing. Jesus came in a way that connected us to Him as humanity. He came as one of us. In a way that served us, redeemed us when we had no hope. Jesus came in a way that changes our relationship with God forever.   

Let us remember to rest in the faithfulness of God. Focus our attention on what is really important, that the Redeemer has come. Let all the other voices and noise fade away.  Focus on who God is and His covenant keeping. 

Our message comes from Hebrews 1, verses 1 through 4. The self-relevatory God spoke through the prophets to the Fathers and speaks to us through His Son, Jesus Christ.  There is no other message in these last days, Jesus is the message. 

This week we look at Psalm 145 another psalm written by David. In this psalm he instructs us to praise God.  We should praise the Lord everyday! Tell others about God's works and His mighty acts. Everything about our days the mundane and the big things should point us to God and allow us to point others to God.   

Psalm 103 is a psalm of David written out of a heart of gratitude.  We should reflect on God's grace with a heart full of praise. Take time to rejoice in the many mercies of God. Our relationship with God gives us hope, we need His divine help.  Pause and praise God. Rejoice in His person, His character, His works, His love. The forgiveness God provides is worthy of praise. 

We begin the book of Ruth and learn the story of Naomi and her daughters-in-law. This story shows us how God's grace provides for us, even when it feels like He isn't near or there isn't any way He could possibly help us out of what we've gotten ourselves into. Remember God is faithful, God's grace covers all our sin and unwise choices.
