What does God say about speaking up against evil? And what is the balance in this? Let’s look into the lives of Absalom’s followers that rebelled against God. They didn’t speak against the evil but rather went along with it. This never ends well!

How did King David deal with severe difficulty he was experiencing because of the betrayal of his own son? The end of Psalm 3 is a great reminder to any of us on how we can turn our focus to God, instead of concentrating on the hopelessness of a situation.

Today we will be talking about serious family problems King David had to deal with. What is his example to us when hardships and heartaches overwhelm us? Unforgiveness, bitterness and not dealing with wickedness in the family caused terrible consequences and sorrow. So much to learn from these verses!

We all can learn from the warnings God gives of “what not to do” even when He is directly speaking to people in leadership. Everyone can know and thus choose what God “wants us to do instead”. There is a huge difference between trusting in ourselves, instead of relying on God…and the consequences or blessings that come because of those decisions throughout our life.

How does God respond to people, leaders, and nations that pridefully rebel against Him? Sometimes it seems as though God is silent amidst those who scorn His ways and minimize His wisdom. But God tells us clearly, He will judge all that partake of this. We as individuals can stand for what is right and true by God’s standards regardless of how the culture minimizes this.

This Psalm starts right away with rebellion against God. Godless nations, leaders and people are intent on tearing down God’s ways and God’s people. There are examples of what happens when this is done, and it is terrible! We should never go along with any culture that goes against God. God wants us to stand against wickedness!

There is a definite difference in the wicked and the righteous and how God deals with them. At the end of this Psalm, God is stating what will happen to both when their lives are over. Therefore, whoever influences us, whatever our continual thoughts are, and what we decide to do with our life, will all matter greatly for good or bad in eternity.

What does it mean to “prosper?” And what should we be prospering in? Let’s look at what this verse actually means in context. A “Spiritual Tree” bears godly fruit in its season. But there is something we need to continually do in order to “water” our roots and help us to not “wither” on our journey called “life.” Indeed, there is a way to prosper the way God wants us to.
