God will establish and defend his own. We don’t need to fight for our place; rather let us contend for the gospel and lift high the name of Christ

God sees past the shiny surface to the heart

Jesus alone is worthy, his worthiness makes all trust in him worthy, he conquers through sacrificing his life, and that’s how his followers conquer too. That conquest, the cross, is how God now rules the world.

Tolerance is not love. It is “the virtue of a man without convictions.” Doctrine leads to living; theology and ethics are wed.

Compromise often happens in the little things. Christ tells this church whom he loves, “conquer by not compromising.” I will “show you a secret so wonderful that you wouldn’t give it up for ten worlds.” -Douglas Kelly

The best church suffers the worst. God’s upside down economy and a reward that will last. The opposite of your best life now. Rather, “be faithful unto death.”

The world exists for the church. Revelation demonstrates this. The church is the hope of the world, the torch of the good news of salvation and restoration burning in a dark place. We are headed somewhere good, toward a feast with The King and His Bride, His blood bought people, the Church

You can defend Bible doctrine to the death and live ethically pure and persevere. But if your love for God has grown cold, the rest matters little. God wants our love above all else.

Seeing Christ as he is changes everything

John is winding up to reveal a Jesus to us who will blow our minds, stun us: He is the risen King of creation, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead
