It's the start of a brand new era here at "So, What's the Problem?" as it's time for Jen and Jimmy to watch movies have never seen but have heard they are possibly problematic. Or, in the case of this movie, they just wanted to bitch about Grease. This should be a once a month deal, to try to change things up a little. Next week will be Jen's pick that she has seen but Jimmy has not.

The Golden Child (1986) Problem 28.07.2023

Aaaaaand, we're back to the 80s, the exact same year as Jimmy's last pick. This week, our intrepid hosts talk about the current Entertainment strikes, the music, a plot point that makes no sense to them and spin a wheel to decide what movie they are covering next... a movie neither host has seen... Contains strong language.

The Trojan War (1997) Problem 20.07.2023

Jen and Jimmy return to Jennifer Love Hewitt romantic comedy territory with this little seen oddity. They chat about the usual as well as Ben Savage, miscast stars, bad filmmaking choices, safe sex and just what the crap is that David Hasselhoff nonsense about? Contains strong language. Re-upload to fix audio problem.

The Cobra (1986) Problem 12.07.2023

It's an 80s Stallone movie so you know what that means???? Right-wing politics and lots of violence! And Jimmy still likes it! It's an 80s action movie so you know it's Jimmy's pick. Tune in next week where the movie will be a 90s teen comedy... and still technically Jimmy's pick, masquerading as Jens. Hahahahahahaha. Contains strong language.

The Dick (1999) Problem 05.07.2023

We are back and we are talking about Dick! Jimmy and Jen discuss the cast, historical accuracy, Abba and confusing actors with their characters. Oh and they talk about action movies in this podcast about a period comedy movie. Next episode is an 80s action movie! Contains strong language.

The Teen Wolf (1985) Problem 12.06.2023

It's that other movie from 1985 that stars Michael J Fox! Jimmy and Jen talk about the Teen Wolf animated series, how people of any orientation can be unlikeable as well as ponder just what the message of the movie is. And behind the scenes, Jimmy is pondering just how he'll post the video of next week's movie on Youtube.  Contains strong and discriminatory language.

The Hand That Rocks the Cradle (1992) Problem 05.06.2023

We are back and we start off year 4 with this early 90s thriller which is much better than the mid-90s thriller we covered before our break. This is what we call a "bad pick" but we have a good discussion about the movie anyway. Contains strong language and adult topics such as miscarriage and assault. Blame the movie. Should be a lighter show next week!

The Fear (1996) Problem 07.05.2023

It's our 100th movie! Jimmy and Jen discuss the joyless mid-90s stalker thriller Fear starring Marky Mark, a movie they talked about all the way back in episode one. They talk about confusing geography, Mark Wahlberg's past, doggy murder and stealth badass characters. Also, discover what show Jen has binge watched in the past week at the time of recording. We are taking a break for a few weeks but...

The Death Warrant (1990) Problem 22.04.2023

Jimmy and Jen dive back into the action movie world of the former's youth but is a first time viewing for the latter. They discuss pointless characters, bad acting, non-scary villains and Jimmy ponders a plot point that males no sense to him. They also welcome Jean Claude Van Damme to the podcast. As in they are covering one of his movies for the first time, he's not a guest or anything. Contains...

The Wild Things (1998) Problem 14.04.2023

It's our 98th movie, so we're covering a movie from 1998. Jimmy and Jen discuss the twists, Jimmy's thoughts on the unrelated movie The Menu and they disagree on a certain aspect of the movie, Wild Things. Includes very very strong language and talk of sexual assault.

The Howard the Duck (1986) Problem 07.04.2023

We're back! This week on "Jen Hates Jimmy", it is Howard the freaking Duck time! Our fearless duo talk about duck nudity, duck anatomy, duck puns and Marvel movies again. It's okay, though, this is based on a Marvel comic, so it's justified, honest! Contains strong language.

The Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994) Problem 04.03.2023

One of the comedies from the year that made Jim Carrey a star and one that is very troubling for a number of reasons. Jim Carrey wearing a tutu is oddly not one of them. Beware, do not listen if you love this movie. Or do then email us at contact@shiftybench.co.uk to tell us why we're wrong. Contains talk of Homophobia and Transphobia because that's just the movie we're covering.

The Malice (1993) Problem 25.02.2023

Jimmy and Jen stay in 1993 this week with an often forgotten thriller co-written by one of Jen's favourite writers. They talk about the movie's actors, its twists, its plot holes and answer the age old question... would you let someone cut your finger off for $1 million? Contains strong language and adult themes.

The Cliffhanger (1993) Problem 17.02.2023

Jimmy and Jen are back and this time round, Jimmy has picked a classic Stallone flick that is great and he won't hear any different! They talk about age gaps in movies, The Razzies, Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls and Buffy, briefly. It's okay, though, this movie has an actor from the show in it. An actor who was in two episodes in the second season but still... Contains strong language.

The Toy (1982) Problem 27.01.2023

It's Jen's birthyear pick and she has went with the 8th most racist movie ever made according to the Complex site. Is its place on such a list warranted? They talk about that as well as Richard Pryor,  Scott Schwartz's adult career and compare the 90s and the 90s. Contains strong language and racist language used in context of the movie.

The Beverly Hills Cop (1984) Problem 13.01.2023

Welcome to 2023! Jimmy and Jen return with this childhood favourite of the former's that the latter just watched for the first time. The All I Want for Christmas (1991) Problem 16.12.2022

The Scrooged (1988) Problem 09.12.2022

Jimmy's first pick for the festive season is this modern retelling of A Christmas Carol from Richard Donner. Does this childhood favourite hold up for our Scottish host or has he found more things to annoy him this time round? It's Jimmy, so who knows? Also topics include Bill Murray, Kanye West and an update on stuff from last week's episode. Contains strong language.

The Santa Clause (1994) Problem 02.12.2022

It's Christmas! Almost but we're starting early here on the podcast with a full five weeks of festive episodes! First up, this from 1994, when Tim Allen was a huge star, we discuss him as well as Santa in general, Jen learns something gross and Jimmy explains how the podcast views on YouTube are going. Contains strong language.

The Gregory’s Girl (1981) Problem 25.11.2022

Taking a break from Thanksgiving movies this year, Jimmy has decided to be patriotic and wants to celebrate St. Andrew's Day with this Scottish classic. Which Jen is watching for the first time. Was she charmed by this teen romantic comedy or was she baffled by the accents? Or both? Or neither? Contains very strong language.

The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking (1988) Problem 19.11.2022

Well... you know this ain't Jimmy's pick but he talks to Jen about it anyway. It's a quick one this week as the pair had very limited time so just as well there isn't really much to talk about anyway. So, they have a discussion about Kevin Smith and Jimmy makes a really bad joke... Contains strong language.

Halloween Ends Spoiler Discussion 05.11.2022

It's November, so lets talk about the Halloween franchise! While Jimmy and Jen take a two week break, enjoy this discussion on the final movie in David Gordon Green's trilogy that's also the end of a four movie arc and the latest movie in the Halloween franchise. They also spoil some of the Friday the 13th franchise and one of them decides if they actually like this movie or not, by episode's end....
