Single Season Record

Lauren Flans watched My So-Called Life for us and now we have to pay for her therapy.     singleseasonrecord@gmail.com

Can you win an Emmy without tears? Is the IRS our collective daddy? What is the name of this episode? How do you say Reef Break ? Ashley Sutton and Sulia Altenberg are with us this week to answer all of these questions and more.

Christine Coffey and Hilary Woodward watched My So-Called Life together in 1994 so we're making them do it again for us. And you, I guess. But mostly for us.   The Justin Tanner article .   @DerickArmijo @SingleSeasonTV singleseasonrecord@gmail.com

You can't start a fire worrying about your little life falling apart.     The MTV Welcome Committee   Tara Sands Hilary Woodward Derick Armijo SingleSeasonTV singleseasonrecord@gmail.com

Whether you watched it at 18 or 8 or never watched it at all, My So-Called Life was a part of your life. So how could it have only lasted one season? You may not believe us that it did. But that's just you making assumptions and we don't have time for your preconcieved notions around here.   Whitney Powell Sulia Altenberg DerickArmijo @ SingleSeasonTV singleseasonrecord@gmail.com

It's only episode 5 of 65, but we couldn't wait any longer to deploy Pete Capella on Swans Crossing .  But what difference does context make when you're watching a show never really concerned with context?

In June of 1984, a show aimed at helping America understand and embrace all the myriad aspects of hip hop aired across the country. But hip hop might have already outgrown this kind of presentation. It might be outgrowing during this show. And so there was never another episode. And to this day the world continues to mourn... Graffiti Rock. Nate Runkel from Yo! That's My Jawn! is with us to bask i...

Jordy Bogguss is back in Swans Crossing with us and maybe he'll stay forever. That could be part of Garrett Booth's elaborate plan after all. (Still no Mila. Kunis or otherwise.)

It's the finale of Drive (2007)! Is that exciting? Is it a relief? Guests Chris Hayner and Harry Nelson can't really even agree with themselves on a verdict. One thing we can all agree on is that Drive is definitely over and Wendy Petrakas, like her creator Tim Minear, is forever trapped in an endless cycle of abuse.

Taryn Manning gives us one for the ages and Emma Stone shows us a glimpse of why she's now EMMA STONE. It's Drive , from 2007, and Rob Lewis is here to fall for everything it's doing wrong, which is kind of the proof it's doing it wrong. All this plus parallels to The Last Jedi ? It totally makes sense!

Jordy Bogguss joins us for episode 4 of Drive , a love/fright letter to Taryn Manning and absolutely nothing else. OK, maybe also that stunt from episode 2.    @ JordyBogguss @ DerickArmijo @ SingleSeasonTV @singleseasonrecord

Harry Nelson is with us to make sure we know there's an easy answer for everything: Drive rules.   @ harrrynelson @ DerickArmijo @ SingleSeasonTV singleseasonrecord@gmail.com

Matt Kawczynski might not like Drive as much as he did when we started this episode, but he is more likely to watch it now that he doesn't. One thing everyone can agree on though is how obsessed Derick is with that Three Stooges TV movie from 23 years ago.   @ MattKawczynski @ DerickArmijo @ SingleSeasonTV singleseasonrecord@gmail.com

Are we enabling FOX's abusive nature by dredging up Drive , one of Tim Minear 's many sufferings at the hands of the network? Doesn't matter, because we can't even wait for the record button to get pressed before we start.   There's also dredging up of audio from 2007, capturing the initial reactions of host and guest alike when they watched Drive for the first time during that week it was actuall...

Christine Coffey watched EVERY EPISODE OF SWANS CROSSING when it originally aired. It sounds impossible. But the hardest part was not spoiling it all for the rest of us dummies who only just discovered its existence.   @DerickArmijo @SingleSeasonTV singleseasonrecord@gmail.com

Derick is ready to admit he loves Father Of The Pride . Harry might have to watch this show if only he can remember it at all. Matt can't believe how much he's managed to watch.  Jordy gloats about not getting Mandeled by the opening credits. Davin still isn't sure we got it wrong. But we did get it wrong. We watched all of Father Of The Pride .   @MattKawczynski @notfamousbut @harrrynelson @Deric...

Is talking animal media dead? Shouldn't it be? Father Of The Pride and our guest Denzel Belin present the case for the prosecution.   Denzel Belin @DerickArmijo @SingleSeasonTV singleseasonrecord@gmail

Is this is best episode of Father Of The Pride ? Or is it the worst? These might be your only choices. #TommyThe CoyoteForever @VeryCoolEmily @ChrisHayner @DerickArmijo @SingleSeasonTV singleseasonrecord@gmail.com

In 2004, Davin Duhamel was excited for Father Of The Pride . And he still is! And who wouldn't be when a racist sexist grandpa who's been around this whole time moves in.   @DerickArmijo @SingleSeasonTV singleseasonrecord@gmail.com

Is this a real show? It's taken 9 episodes to ask this important question. David Martel and Matt Kawczynski have more questions than answers. Gobble gobble, I like corn.

Pete Capella and Ashley Sutton are kind of bewildered by what we've made them watch this week. It's just the 8th episode of Father Of The Pride though.

One Man's TV show from 2004 is another man's TV show from 2022. Tommy Avallone is with us for episode 7 of Father Of The Pride and his favorite joke of all time.   @Tommy Avallone3 @DerickArmijo @SingleSeasonTV singleseasonrecord@gmail.com   That IGN interview with Cheryl Hines and Julian Holloway.

Harry Nelson is here to endure the onslaught of homophobia Father Of The Pride had in store for its sixth episode. Maybe he likes it though. We don't tell him what to think.

Father Of The Pride is a bust. Of Barbra Streisand! Jess Lane is replused. And intrigued? She might need to watch more to know for sure.

Donkey from Shrek is here to make everything make even less sense. Jordy Bogguss is here to tell us we've been watching the opening titles of Father Of The Pride all wrong this whole time. And William Bennett is here because the world loves former Secretery of Education jokes.
