Shellheads: A TMNT Podcast

We're back to reading the original Mirage Turtles! This time we hit the Mikey, Don and Leo one-shots and #8-11 of the ongoing. This is an iconic run of the book whose influence can be seen in everything from the first film to the IDW series. These are the roots of the TMNT as we know them.

In our 3rd character spotlight, we turn our attention to Michelangelo! He's the party dude who's always looking for a decent pizza. We chat about the different depictions of the Nunchuk wielding Shellback and poke fun at the usefulness of his chosen weapon. Enjoy!

We've finally made it to TMNT 2K3! Its the closest thing we have, and probably will ever get, to the original comic book on TV screens. We cover episodes 101-112 in this cast and we leave with a wet appetite for more 2K3 action!

In this episode we cover the issues 5-12 of the popular Archie published comics from the late-80s/early 90s. We meet a lot of new characters and get our first sweet tastes of the bizarre tales from the minds of Stephen Murphy and Ryan Brown.

The brand new DCAU movie, Batman Vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is out now and our two Shellheads had a front row seat (in the living room) on release day. Check out episode 12, we talk about the film, the grander implications of this version of the Turtles and compare it to the Comic Book Source Material.

Episode #011 is all about the first 13 episodes of Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation. Widely seen as one of the worst iterations of the TMNT, this Saban produced show from the late '90s has many dubious distinctions. We do have a few nice things to say about the show, but boy do we have a lot to say about this abomination.

From the Turtle-Van to the Shellraiser, Donny is responsible for all of the gizmo's and gadgets the turtles use in nearly every episode of every iteration of the turtles. We dissect the concept of the tech guy and give major spoilers for two awesome comic series in this all-new episode of Shellheads!!!!

We've made it to The Secret of the Ooze, the second theatrically released film by New Line. Our opinions on this piece of 1991 cinema are quite mixed, but our conversation is lively.

Join us for Episode 8. This time around we dive into the second season of the classic Fred Wolf produced television show. We talk about every episode of one of the most iconic seasons of children's television to come out of the '80s.

Our heroes dive back into Mirage comics for episode #07. Issues 2-7, Fugitoid and Raphael are all part of one of the most iconic TMNT arcs of the Mirage run. Jeff and Sergio chat about what they loved in these early issues.

This time around the Shellheads chat up video games! From the NES to the Playstation 4, the TMNT have a checkered history of fan-loved, yet deeply flawed games. In this episode, we cover what we are deeming the "Retro" games, all the titles on the NES, SNES, Genesis, Game Boy and Arcades.

On every 5th episode our Shellheads, Jeff and Sergio are doing a deep dive into a character. Obviously, Leo is first. From his Mirage debut to his radical interpretation in Rise of the TMNT every version of Leo is tapped for our first character specific aventure.

The Shellheads dip back into the comics for episode 4. This time we start our journey through the Archie TMNT Adventures series.

The original TMNT motion picture was as a big of a hit as it was a technical feat. We breakdown the pros and cons of the movie, comment on how it's aged and point out some wonderful Easter eggs.

Episode 2 is all about everyone's favorite animated version of our shelled heroes, the Fred Wolf produced original cartoon. Jeff and Sergio discuss the first season of this groundbreaking show and its effect on themselves and the world. Enjoy!

For episode one, we start where every TMNT podcast should start, with the Turtles original debut in the pages of Eastman and Laird's Mirage comic.

Rebre is proud to introduce a brand new podcast to the family, Shellheads: A TMNT Podcast. Coming in January, Shellheads will be a deep dive into Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in ways you've never heard before.
