A Sermon from St Paul's on Sunday June 28 2026.  Philippians 2:6-11 is one of the richest theological passages in the whole Bible. Yet it comes in the context of very down to earth instructions about our relationships with other people. This passage shows us that to have relationships filled with joy, we need minds filled with the glorious truths of the gospel. 

A sermon from St Paul's on Sunday June 21 2026. In Philippians 1:12-26 the Apostle Paul writes about both his deep joy in the middle of an experience of intense suffering. We too can have this kind of joy-full suffering as we come to know what Paul knows: the gospel is growing, we know where we are going, and Jesus is working.

Just as Jesus opened eyes and opened mouths back then, he does the same for us now by the power of his Holy Spirit. Jesus opens our eyes to see him clearly and to see the world clearly. He opens our mouths to pray and to share the good news. 

A sermon from St Paul's on Sunday May 10 2026.  In Matthew 9:9-17, Matthew recounts his own (miraculous) story of being called to follow Jesus. In these verses Jesus is the commander, host, and doctor. He calls us to follow him, gathers us into community, and brings healing for our sins.

Jesus proves to be the True Friend who shows us our problem, and reveals his power. Jesus both forgives our sins, and sets us on our feet so we can walk again in a new way of life. 

A sermon from St Paul's on Sunday April 26 2026. In Matthew 8:18-34 there is a very strange story involving a whole herd of pigs who launch headlong off a cliff into the water. But these pigs point us to Jesus. The Jesus who goes to the fringes, who brings freedom to the captives, the Jesus who turns our world upside down, and bears all evil and sin. In short, the Jesus who changes everything. 

A sermon from St Paul's on Sunday April 12 2026. In Matthew 8:1-4 Jesus heals a leper and makes him clean. We learn from these verses about the heart of Jesus for us, and the healing Jesus gives to us.

A sermon from St Paul's on Easter Sunday 2026.  In John 20, Mary goes looking for Jesus, but in the end it is Jesus who is looking for her. Mary doesn't find Jesus the dead teacher, but Jesus the risen Lord and the living Gardener who is making all things new!
