This Sermon is based on Matthew 11:2-15.  John the Baptist is in prison,  his faith is faltering and sends a message to Jesus.   We stumble in the faith when what We think God should  do crashes into what he's actually doing.  What he's actually doing is much bigger and much better than we ever imagine.   

Based on Isaiah 2:1-5,  this sermon talks about enlightenment.   There are many different ways in which people seek to be enlightenment, and all but one plunges a person into darkness.   There is only one true path to enlightenment. 

A sermon based on  Malachi 3:12-18.    The followers of God will sometimes wonder if they get anything for following God.   They also have trouble seeing the difference between them and those who don't follow God.   Malachi explains how there is rather big difference between those who believe and do not believe;  only it has not been revealed yet,  but it will be in the end when the book of rememb...

This Reformation Day sermon focuses  on Martin Luther's Discovery of the grace of God and the Freedom it gives. 

Using the story of Jacob and Esau,  Pastor Trask makes application to how we approach our lives with each other.  

2 Timothy 1:8-12 is the text upon which this sermon is based.   Paul tells young Pastor Timothy to not be ashamed of the Gospel.    We must ask ourselves?   Have we been ashamed of it?    Reasons for not being ashamed are given.  

Based on 2 Timothy 2:11-13,   this sermon speaks of endurance in the faith for all of life. 

A confirmation day sermon...but good for all.   It's a lively description of what's involved with fighting the good fight of faith.  

Jewish religious leaders are were repulsed  by the fact that Jesus would even think about eating with known sinners.  We can understand that because our parents taught us that bad company corrupts good character.  But Their disdain for Jesus originated from not understanding Jesus' purpose.    This sermon explores how Jesus did indeed eat with sinners,  matter of fact, it's his ultimate goal. 

Jesus said,  "if anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters....he cannot be my disciple."      All we can say upon hearing this is "WOW!   How can Jesus tell us to hate?"     He said this so powerfully,  for a powerful and important reason.... which is the subject of this sermon which is based on  Luke 14:25-35 and Deuteronomy 30:1...

There is an ongoing struggle in the heart and mind of every Christian:   "Does God really provide, or do I provide for myself."    In Genesis 15 we meet Abram who has the same struggle.

A sermon on Isaiah 66:10-14  

This sermon focuses on but one fruit of the Spirit:  Self-control.   It would seem that self control is essential to all the other fruits. 

When people start saying "This is not the kind of God I want,"  they will often proceed to invent the kind of God they want.   It's not surprising that the God they invent always agrees with them.

God has made his Wisdom available to the world in surprising ways,   if the world cares to hear it. 

We all want to know and try to guess what the future holds for us.  We make our plans, we map out our way, but it always ends up different than expected.   We have little control over the future, and this leads to worry and sometimes no small amount of sorrow.  But there is one who does know the future and he has made himself accessible to you.  

Scriptural base  Isaiah 65:17-25   “For behold, I create new heavens   and a new earth,   and the former things shall not be remembered   or come into mind. But be glad and rejoice forever   in that which I create;   for behold, I create Jerusalem to be a joy,   and her people to be a gladness. I will rejoice in Jerusalem   and be glad in my people;   no more shall be heard in it the sound of weep...

Temptation is not always so obvious as in the Days of the Golden  calf;  many times temptation is rendered invisible to us by our relationships with others as well as what is called "cultural norms."    This sermon seeks to help us be more alert and able to respond to temptations both visible and invisible. 

This sermon explains how easily idolatry can overtake a person's life 

This sermon looks at the three temptations that the Devil placed before Jesus and how he remained steady on the path that led him to the cross.    Just as Satan sought to take Jesus away from the cross he tries to prevent us from receiving the benefits of the cross, and thereby claiming us as his own.   But Jesus has given us everything to remain steady on our walk.  

Based on Nehemiah 8:1-10,  this sermon explores an often overlooked  aspect of mourning.   It has a purpose.  A most important purpose.
