Real joy comes when Christ is your life, not when life is perfect. What does it look like when Christ is your life? When Christ is your life, your perspective of difficult problems changes, people become partners not competitors, death becomes a gift, and your purpose never ends.

First, why do our words matter? What we say is powerful, untamable, and revealing, and we are accountable for what we say. Then, how do we clean up our words? We must guard our hearts, speak life-giving words often, and be led by the Holy Spirit.

Envy can be defined as discontentment with what I have and resentment with what you have. The truth about envy is it ruins our relationships, robs us of enjoyment, and rots our bodies. How can we get rid of envy? We avoid the temptation to compare and celebrate God’s goodness to others and to us.

Uncontrolled anger is the result of being unwilling to deal with sin fully and immediately. What is the key to controlling anger? We must put on our new nature. What does that look like? We refuse to let the actions of others damage our relationships, remember our own sin first and how Jesus forgives us, resign our position as judge, and recognize that God can use our pain for His greater purpose.

Greed is a liar: It says life would be more secure if we just had a little bit more. We must beware of greed. It is never satisfied. It is only temporary. And, it is always destructive. How do we get rid of greed? We learn to be content and live with generosity.

What is the evidence of pride in our lives? We rely on ourselves and look down on others. What's the key to getting rid of pride? Humility looks to the mercy and sacrifice of Jesus. And humility is the joy and freedom of not being preoccupied with self.

Because the tomb is empty, the statements of Jesus are 100% validated, the sins of humanity are 100% acquitted, and the sting of death is 100% defeated.

What are the essentials of being a disciple? A disciple will listen to Jesus even when it doesn’t make sense. A disciple will be quick to confess. A disciple will never lose the awe. And a disciple will completely surrender to a new assignment.

When we're in need of a miracle, what lessons can we learn from the life of an outcast? Jesus meets us right where we are. The miracle doesn't begin until we obey. We must seek the healer more than the healing. And remember, gratitude is the secret to the real blessing. The bottom line: Let's be like the one who went back to thank the One who is able to do the impossible.

The longer you have to wait for the miracle, the easier it is to believe it will never happen. When you need a miracle, remember that Jesus is all you need, ignore the critics and their customs, and walk in holiness.

Being face to face with Jesus doesn’t make life easy; it makes it possible to go on when life isn’t. Here's the hard truth about hard times: Hard times are unavoidable. Hard times are purposeful. And hard times are temporary.

Jesus performed many miracles, including walking on water and calming the storm. When the impossible becomes possible, we trust in the character of God, step out from the crowd, focus on the face and voice of Jesus, call to Jesus when we are sinking, and worship Who Jesus is more than what He does.

Every day there is a battle for the heart. When our heart fails, when we mess up, what do we need to remember to complete the mission of Christ?

One of God's names is Jehovah-Shalom, which means "the LORD is peace." How can we have peace in the chaos? We must face our fears and worries, remove our idols, accept our identity in Christ, and start our days in worship.

We all want more of something. The question we must ask: Is God enough? One of the names of God is Jehovah-Jireh, which means the Lord will provide. The Lord will provide direction when we are confused, resources when we are lacking, strength when we are weak, and salvation when we are lost.

One of God's names is Jehovah-Rapha, the LORD who heals. What does that mean for us? We all face sickness and death because of the curse of sin. God wants to restore all of us, but not always the way we want. God controls the outcome, but we still have a command to obey.

One of the names of God is Jehovah-Nissi, which means "the LORD is my banner." With God as our banner, how can we win the battle? We must choose the right teammates, use the right weapon, give the right praise, and build the right memories.

What does it mean that one of God's names is Jehovah-Raah, the Good Shepherd? He knows us by name, guides us into a satisfying life, protects us from the enemy, welcomes everyone, and sacrifices Himself in our place.

We were created on purpose and for a purpose, and it isn't about us. How can we fulfill our purpose? We must realize every Christ-follower has a common purpose, remember God gave every individual specific gifts for His Kingdom, and refuse to let fear and comfort determine our actions.

We're better together in community. But why do we need others? Because we have a relational God. Because the first problem in humanity wasn't sin ... but loneliness. Because life change happens best in the context of relationships. And who do we need? We need to develop relationships with those who are honest. We need to examine relationships with those who are harmful. We need to embrace relation...

The way we love others will prove our love for God. How do we love each other? We understand the depth of God's great love for us. We remember God's great love extends to everyone. And we choose to give God's great love to others by seeing the value of others, forgiving others, and living in unity with others.

We are called to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. As we begin a new year, nothing is more important. What does it mean for us to love God fully?

Every ending is a new beginning when we look back and celebrate and when we look forward and prepare.

Why do we celebrate this Christmas? Jesus came for someone like me: Someone who is weary. Someone who is worried. And someone who is wandering. That's reason to celebrate!

How can we find hope in the difficult seasons of life? We expect doubt and disappointment, avoid the temptation to compare and blame, never stop praying and praising, and fully trust in God's timing and purpose.
