Sebastian Smith

One of my favourite monologues - a story reflected in my own life and an absolute classic. After hearing a number of remixes of this kind of material that did nothing for it at all, I felt desparate to show this the love it deserves. I also added a twist to my interpretation by grafting on the Bo Diddley beat from the 1950's. It amazed me how much power this gave to the bass-line.

Started this in 2021 during the Covid-19 lockdown. Then lockdown finished and I went out to play. Finally got some kind of result on July 2nd, 2025 after being laid up with a broken shoulder.

6½ Inch Heels turned out to be one of my more popular tracks. People still listen to it now, even though it was first uploaded in 2014. So as to preserve that original version, this new mix is coming in as a new track. The overall tune remains the same but the remix brings it into a more modern context especially in the percussion.
