"Do not remove the ancient landmark which your fathers have set." (Proverbs 22:28) Just as the Israelites had no right to move their neighbor's landmarks to take more for themselves we have no right to move the spiritual landmarks God has set. He has established boundaries in the church, and in society that are to be respected. Those who move these landmarks will be cursed (cf. Deuteronomy 27:7).

We live in a sin ridden world. At times it can be easy to fall into pessimism. However, God wants His people to be optimistic, especially concerning their spiritual endeavors; and He has made provisions for optimism.

God does not want our service to be half-hearted. We were purified to be His “own special people, zealous for good works” (Titus 2:14). We must be passionate about God, and our service of Him. This zeal must be carefully nurtured to prevent it from cooling off. This sermon considers four ways to nurture our zeal for God.

When someone asks us, “What’s your story?,” what is it that we will tell them. What do we wish to tell them? What things matter most to us? When our life is over, what do we want our story to be?

The Dead Sea has some unique qualities which serve as an image of a stagnant disciple. As Christians, we cannot be like the Dead Sea, taking and taking without ever giving.

Christians must be careful about the humanistic/anthropocentric perspective which most possess today. The Christian’s world view has God at its center – Theocentric. We must beware lest the anthropocentric – man at center – perspective warps our understanding of spiritual topics. God should be our focus in everything.

This sermon examines the consequences of maintaining fellowship with those in sin. Using the account of Korah’s rebellion in Numbers 16, some principles of fellowship are considered. Maintaining fellowship with those from whom whom God has called us to separate ends in tragedy.

Perhaps the most important factor in healthy relationships is communication. How much more so in our relationship with God? God’s communication with us is crucial, as is our communication with Him.
