2 Peter 3:16-18. It’s easy to become stagnant, or even to fall away from our faith. If we are not growing, we are stagnant. Being stagnant opens the door for us to be tripped up by false teaching and false teachers. That is why it is important to keep growing in your faith in Jesus. Are you growing or are you stagnant?

1 John 2:6. John is challenging us to think about our walk in the world and our talk. Do they support each other? John teaches us that our walk and our talk must be one in the same. How is your walk today?

2 Kings 6:15-17. When the servant of Elisha suddenly found them surrounded by the enemy, Elisha didn’t worry. He knew the protection was there. He prayed that the eyes of his servant would see what Elisha knew was there. Even when we don’t see it, God has our back and He will not let us down.

1 Peter 5:10. None of us like times of suffering. But, that suffering is beneficial because it helps us realize how much we need God. As a result of our times of suffering, God does several things for us. Listen to this episode to see what the God of all grace does for us. By the way, what is your favorite Pot Pie? Mark 8:36. God’s definition of success is different than the world’s definition of success. It’s not wrong for a Christian to be successful, but it is wrong if that success comes at the cost of your relationship with God. Are you more concerned about chasing after the things of God, or the things of man? By the way, today is national ice cream cone day. What is your favorite flavor ice cream?

1 Peter 1:21-22. Our faith gets tested to see whether or not it is real .

1 Peter 1:18-21. Jesus didn’t come so that you can continue living life the way you always have, the way you want. He came to save you from your sins. That comes with a price that gold and silver cannot buy. The shed blood of Jesus on the cross is your payment for your sins. Have you accepted your free gift?

1 Peter 1:13-16. God has called us to live a holy life, because He is holy. Unfortunately, many of us fall into the same sins over and over again. Peter gives us instruction on how to keep from falling into the same sins again and again.

1 Timothy 4:12-14. Church is important to our day to day lives. As Christians, church is not optional, it is required. Why? Because the right church will help you grow in your faith and walk with Jesus. The right church will feed your hunger for God’s word. The right church will accurately teach and preach what the Bible says, helping you use your gift that God has given to you.

Nehemiah 8:10. After asking Ezra to read the book of the Law, the returning captives wept at the words they heard. They wanted to get right with God because their disobedience lead to 70 years as captives in Babylon. Matthew 26:36-44. We studied this week on people who stopped too soon. Today, we look at the One who didn’t. That’s right, Jesus. Could He have stopped too soon and walked away? Acts 24:24-25. Felix was a man just like most of us. He heard the Gospel preached by Paul himself. But waited for a better time. He stopped short of receiving Jesus as his Lord and Savior. So many of us today do the same thing. We want to live our lives and then turn it all over to Jesus and “get right.” Friends, don’t wait till it’s too late. Today is the day of salvation.

Genesis 25:29-34. Esau was a hungry man. So hungry, in fact, that his birthright had no value

Numbers 32:5-7, 15-22. Some of the tribes of Israel wanted their inheritance to be on the other side of the Jordan from the rest. They stopped just short of the blessing of God. How often do we stop just short because we want to stay in the place we liked, or stay in our comfort zone? Sometimes God’s greatest blessings happen when we come out of our comfort zone.

Genesis 11:31, 12:1-4. How many times have we stopped just short of where God wants us to be? How any times do we continue to dwell in the place we stopped at instead of going on to the place where God wants us? Luke 9:24.

Luke 9:61-62. As much as I don’t want to say this, sometimes our families and friends become a barrier to our faith. They can also be a contributor to helping build a strong faith.

Luke 9:59-60. God has called each of us into a relationship with Him. The question is this, have you answered that call? Are you doing what God has called you to do, or are you telling Him “Tomorrow, Lord.” Whatever God has called you to do, do it NOW, right now. Don’t delay, don’t put it off till it’s more convenient for you. Do the call.

Luke 9:57-58, 2 Corinthians 8:9-12. If you want to build a rock solid faith in Jesus, then you must understand what you are getting into. Living the Christian life is not for the faint of heart. It’s hard, it is troublesome. But, you always have your Heavenly Father there to give you strength and help when needed.

Psalm 12:8, 1 Kings 19:9, 18. No doubt about it, the wicked are all around us. So much so that, at times, we may feel all alone, isolated from other Christian’s. We may even feel that we are the only ones left. But we are not, God wants us to stand firm in spite of what is happening around us.

Psalm 12:6-7, Psalm 19:14. We see a big contrast between the words of men and the word of God. We need to make sure that our words are pleasing to God and just as pure as His words are. How is your speech today?
