In addition to reviewing some new films, Taylor and Mike are joined this week by Canadian Filmmaker Mark Weeden who talks about his latest film That Is All available on streaming services in the next few weeks! Mike reviews Worth on Netflix and Taylor reviews I’m Your Man from her most recent trip to The Screening Room.

In a look back at an episode only done for the web, Mike and Tyler talk Star Trek again! Taylor will be back next week, in the meantime enjoy another nerdfest as Mike and guest Tyler Vance talk more Star Trek because that’s what we like to do when Taylor isn’t around.

It’s time once again to hear from our TIFF correspondent Nicole Stawikowski! Nicole gives us all the highlights from the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival, reviews the films she saw and gives us a bit of a look ahead to what we can expect for awards season.

Mike reviews Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, the latest in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Taylor reviews Respect, a film following the rise of Aretha Franklin’s career.

It’s the first podcast of the fall and we’re taking a look at films coming out throughout the fall leading up to Halloween and the Oscars season. Mike reviews Stillwater and Taylor reviews Candyman, the 2021 remake.  

Mike reviews the musical/movie In The Heights from Hamilton’s creator Lin Manuel Miranda and Taylor turns back the clock to review Love Witch. Speaking of turning back the clock, Nick Cage and The Green Knight are brought up again!

After a busy week, Mike and Taylor sit down to review some new(ish) movies! Taylor talks about The Truffle Hunters, not to be confused with Pig, and Mike reviews the Disney film Jungle Cruise based on the Disney ride…because they do that now.

Mike and Taylor give their reviews for The Green Knight (starring Dev Patel) and The Suicide Squad (2021) from James Gunn, while trying to understand where exactly these movies are coming from. Our team also gets some Star Trek fan questions and we discuss how close a few fans got to bingo again this past week.

Screening in Kingston gives us an MCU update with reviews of the Disney Plus show Loki and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. We are also surprised by Taylor reviewing Black Widow, the long awaited next film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Nicolas Cage is back, Taylor and Mike review his new film Pig, also Starring Alex Wolff. They review the film and talk a bit about marketing movies and what you can expect from this film. Disney and Scarlett Johansson are fighting, will they stay together for the kids? Only time will tell.

Finally. We’re back. Screening in Kingston goes back to the movies this week and finally sees some new films, in an actual movie theatre. Taylor reviews Zola and Mike reviews A Quiet Place Part 2. Mike talks about the comparison of A Quiet Place to A Quiet Place Part II and Taylor also has some thoughts on the next Fear Street films from Netflix.

And now the exciting conclusion to our Star Trek talk! Tyler and Mike continue to go through episodes of Star Trek: The Original Series, introducing the themes of their picks as they go.

Our team discusses some films they’ve watched on streaming platforms this week, many new releases, and are excited by the announcement of movie theatres reopening in Ontario in a few weeks. Taylor reviews Fear Street Part One: 1994, and Mike gives short reviews for Fatherhood, Above Suspicion and Army of the Dead

Taylor and Mike review Bo Burnham: Inside, a comedy/musical special now available on Netflix from comedian, actor, writer, songwriter and Screening in Kingston Award Winner Bo Burnham.

Taylor and Mike pick up their chat about The Conjuring Universe and finally review The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. They rank the films with the other Conjuring films and get into some fan questions about how films handle certain types of content.

Joining Mike and Taylor this week are directors/filmmakers Kemi King & Lisbet MacLean from The Intangible Queer, a film in Reelout’s Summer Showcase of Queer films! Matt Salton, director of Reelout Arts Inc. also stops in to chat about the showcase, how it came together, and how you can stream the films this summer from anywhere in the world.

Mike opens the show explaining his Monday rut and all the tech issues the day started with. Taylor and Mike discuss The Conjuring Cinematic Universe and dive into their expectations for the series of films, where things could go from here and an update on The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.

Mike and Taylor wrap up another #movieclub with our 10th movies from a hat! They review The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (2018) and The Angriest Man in Brooklyn (2018), compare the two and discuss the careers of Robin Williams and Lily James.

The early and mid 2010s come up this week as our team reviews Burnt (2015) and The Help (2011), both films came out of the hat last week! Mike and Taylor discuss and compare the two films and talk about the content of each and how it holds up today.

The movies from a hat movie club continues with our look at Apollo 13 (1995) and The Haunting (1999). Taylor and Mike review both films, we find out how Taylor feels about them, and we compare the two best we can.

As we continue our movies from a hat movie club, Taylor and Mike give their thoughts on Monty Python’s Life of Brian, from 1979 ,and Die Hard, from 1988!

In our first time back to our Movies From A Hat movie club, Mike and Taylor are joined by Tyler Vance to talk about Love & Other Drugs (2010) and Timeline (2003). They also reveal the winners from our fan voted first ever Screening in Kingston Awards.    

The 2021 Oscars are in the books and we have a lot to say. Taylor and Mike are joined by Matt Salton to go over all the Oscars winners, the show itself and to announce the winner of the Screening in Kingston’s annual Oscars Pool!

One week away from the 2021 Oscars, the Screening in Kingston team are put to the test by a fan of the show. Guest Producer Austin Spinner Summer comes up with games, trivia and awards categories for Mike and Taylor to tackle with guest host Tyler Vance. They’ll select their picks for Best Picture, Best Performance and some fun games centred around movies.
