Savor the Burn: Cocktails & Rock Tales

So this was a loot of fun, a bit terrifying, and took forever to get the taste and smell out of our head. Every thing, ya, know I think I need some BBQ flavored whiskey in my life! Yeah, us either, but here we are!

Let's take a moment and be thankful for our friends, family, and loved ones. Apologize in advance, we might have gotten a little long winded, but we had a great time with 3 special guests. Joining us here in KC, was a great friend Chandler of kalimizzou.com. And remote, from across the country in Tennessee, my sister Faith and brother-in-law Tim. We're still working out the technical issue...

Ms. Katie takes such good care of us, and this time it was an ice cream sandwich and Oreo ice cream cake! Sorry not sorry, we were a bit loud when fatting this one down, but we did happen to reflect on an amazing show we got to play this past September in Cherryvale, Kansas!

This was a very special episode where we were able to show a little appreciation, with some allocated bourbon.

We had Jonathan Jr over once again and mixed up a great new cocktail that turned into somewhat of a bourbon battle royale as we searched to take it up yet another notch!

Here is a wonderful cocktail, made with the Angel's Envy Rye Whiskey Finished in Caribbean Rum Casks called the Saratoga . this cocktail did not disappoint and brought some new things to the table for us.

Angel's Envy has sooo much to offer! We did a side by side of the standard offering, The Angel's Envy Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey finished in Port Wine Barrels , and their Rye Whiskey Finished in Caribbean Rum Casks. What a treat! There is so much to love with both of these!

We thought we knew where the ceiling was with making the best ol,d fashioned cocktail, boy were we wrong. We weren't even sure how this was going to pair, but this West Bottoms Whiskey Company Maple Cask Finished Rye left our jaw dropped and wanting more!

This is one amazing cocktail made with West Bottoms Whiskey Company, the KC Horse Feather! Nose to presentation, this is one that is top of the list!

Not just because it is local, but we have become big fans of our very own West Bottoms Whiskey Company. This episode we put their original up against their latest limited release Maple Cask Rye!

Old Fashioneds are not created equal!

We tried and reviewed both the Michter's Small Batch Bourbon and the Sour Mash, now it's time to make a cocktail! We decided what better cocktail to showcase this fine whiskey with, then an Old Fashioned, Savor the Burn style!

Time to hit the stage again, back from hiatus, Into Existence emerges with a vengenance!

Not very often do we compare, and we didn't really this time either, but we definitely put both of these offerings from Michter's head to head and picked them apart.

After comparing the Red Breast 12yr with the Cask Strength, it was time for an Irish cocktail, and boy howdy, this one did not disappoint!

Those that have been around for a minute, know, The Red Breast 12 year is our standard for Irish whiskey. But what if we turn the proof up a pinch? We go toe to toe with Red breast 12 year and the 12 Year Cask Strength!

When the city of Lenexa hosts a beard competition, W2 was there to win some respect.
