On this Father's Day we started a new sermon series titled "Beginning God's Way" which will be a 12 week series covering the first 25 chapters of the Book of Genesis. Today, we begin where it all begins Genesis 1, "In the beginning, God created."

On the Day of Pentecost the promise of the Father - the Holy Spirit - came upon the disciples with great power. Jesus appears to his disciples after his resurrection. Luke records that Jesus "opened their minds to understand the Scriptures." They finally get it. They know who Jesus is and what he has done for them. They understand. In this sermon we explore if understanding is enough. Is it enough as a Christian to simply know who Jesus is? Or, is there more to it?

Jesus said, "Go and make disciples of all nations." These words are often called The Great Commission. What does it mean to be commissioned to a task? Who's mission is it to start with? This sermon explores these significant words of Jesus and directly applies them to our lives today.

We had a very special guest preacher, the Rev. Dr. David Kim. He is a dear friend and personal discipleship coach for Pastor Aaron Gehrke. He's often called "Doubting Thomas" however the problem with Thomas was not so much doubts as it was a flat-out refusal to believe in the resurrection of Jesus. He was an unbeliever. Yet, Jesus still came to him and Jesus came for him. And Thomas could not help but confess, "My Lord and My God!"

After the resurrection of Jesus, he spent 40 days appearing to people validating his resurrection. Just like an aftershock of an earthquake, these appearances were like aftershocks of Easter. They originate with Jesus and are triggered by the main shock of his death and resurrection. On Easter morning the crown of thorns was exchanged for the crown of victory! Christ's victory is our gain. The crown of life is our eternal inheritance!

The Cross is the most well-known image associated with Christianity throughout the world. But The Cross was a death penalty. A gruesome death penalty. Yet, this is what we hang on the front of our churches, and place on our steeples. What we believe about Jesus all comes down to what happened on the cross.

The Cup appears in two different places in Luke 22. The cup of the Passover and the cup of suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane. Watch or listen to this sermon to learn more about the significance of The Cup.

When we follow after Jesus it's good to be part of the crowd. But, what's your place in the crowd? On this Palm Sunday, we join in the crowd of people shouting, "Hosanna! Save us now!"

On this last Wednesday in Lent, during the week of "Going" in the Red Letter Challenge, Pastor Aaron reminds us that one of the greatest inhibitors to us speaking about our faith is fear. Jesus spent a lot of time telling his disciples, "Go." He also spent a lot of time telling them, "Fear not."

In this final principle of the Red Letter Challenge, things get personal. Going is probably the most difficult thing for Christians to do. Why? The reasons vary from person to person. But, the reality is, we must speak. We have to learn to simply tell others what Jesus has done in our lives and what difference that makes. There are too many people dying not knowing Jesus. "Give clothes to the needy," is the challenge for today. In this sermon, we look at the Biblical theology of clothing and find a useful image for us in how to view our clothing.

Our God is a generous God. We are invited by Him to live lives of generosity in response. In this 4th principle of Jesus followers, in the Red Letter Challenge, we are challenged to be people who give because the way we give directly affects the way we experience the Kingdom of God.

What if all Christians saw themselves as everyday missionaries in their literal neighborhoods? "Love your neighbor as yourself."-Jesus

Why do we serve other people as Christians? It's our purpose because it was Jesus' purpose! Jesus came into this world not to be served, but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.

Day 16 in the Red Letter Challenge asks us to "be merciful." In this message, Pastor Aaron reminds us what mercy means, why mercy is a practical necessity in the world, and he teaches the congregation a song called "Lord Have Mercy."

Grace has the power to change lives. No matter how serious, big, or awful your sin is, God's grace extends to cover it. In this week of Forgiveness, we will experience the reality that we are forgiven solely because of what Jesus has done for us. Grace!

The Day 9 challenge is "Spend some time in solitude today: Take your bible with you and get way from all the distractions. Try it for 30 minutes and if you are able, do it even longer." This evening's message from our 2nd Wednesday evening in Lent dives deeper into this daily challenge and the necessity of it.

We had a snow day at church on 2/24/2019. Because we were intending on wrapping up the Book of Job, Pastor Aaron preached the sermon from his basement on Monday 2/25/2019. This sermon is the conclusion to the Book of Job sermon series.

Finally! God shows up and God speaks! This debate between Job and his friends about why Job suffered so greatly needed to come to an end. God always shows up. God always speaks.
