Husband & Wife
Sacrilegious Discourse - Bible Study for Atheists
Husband and Wife are two non-believers who have always wanted to read the Bible. Why would we subject ourselves to this you might ask? From our perspective it helps us understand where the Christians around us, here in the Midwest, are coming from when they quote the Bible at us. Husband is basically an Atheist and wife leans Agnostic but mostly Atheist and we’re just having some fun at the Bible’s expense while learning more about what our neighbors claim we’re going to hell over. Husband and Wife cover Ecclesiastes chapter 6. . Kohelet says that if a man has 100 children, he probably won't be able to afford a proper burial, which definitely tracks, because that is a lot of mouths to feed. So many, in fact, that we think the dude needs at least five wives to birth that amount of children, which is still like 20 babies each. Wife's body barely handled TWO so that sti...

Husband and Wife cover Ecclesiastes chapter 2. Kohelet, son of David, who inexplicably bears a female name, still thinks that all is meaningless, and we are really worried this person is suffering intense Depression (with a capital-D because Depression its a lying bitch). Ecclesiastes Chapter 1: Bible Study for Atheists 19.09.2023 19:13
Husband and Wife cover Ecclesiastes chapter 1. An unnamed author introduces us to Kohelet, son of David, who inexplicably bears a female name. All is meaningless, per the king's experience. This passage, tho dark, is beautifully written. Ecclesiastes is a favorite for some of our listeners, and if the rest of the book is anything like its intro, we can easily see why. Proverbs Wrap Up: Bible Study for Atheists 13.09.2023 31:37
Husband and Wife recap the Book of Proverbs — a collection of collections, most of the Proverbs are attributed to Solomon, which is clearly nonsense, altho he may have penned a handful and collected the rest from his non-Hebrew Egyptian and Babylonian buddies. The sayings in this book were pretty black-and-white, lacking in nuance with zero gray area. We failed the pop quiz but still did better th...
