What does it mean to love like Jesus? We might be surprised to find that Jesus’ command requires more than mere obedience. It demands we deeply know the costly love of Christ for us and the assurance he gives in the gospel.

In John chapter 15 Jesus declares that He is the "true vine." The imagery of a vine finds its meaning throughout the entire old testament and would not have been lost on all who heard its declaration.

As Jesus continues to prepare his disciples for his upcoming departure he leaves them with two guarantees. What did this mean for them and how does this impact us today?
