Episodes

Episode 18. Stay calm take a breath and move forward 01.01.2021

Tensions are high these days and there's often so much focus on moving forward that we don't talk about the fact that you'll move back if you don't keep trying to move forward. In this episode I mentioned what it's like to be able to put my pants on in the morning and how something that's easily frustrating can ruin your whole day.

Episode 17. Control and self-sabotage 30.12.2020

In this episode I talk about why I have a poor sleep routine. And why I have a lot of trouble breaking the pattern. I talk about my struggles with sleep because of hypertension and sleep apnea that are now corrected but the bad habits are still there. And I discuss the ability to change the habits and why I believe I self-sabotage as a form of control in my life.

Episode 16. Expectation 29.12.2020

In this episode I talk about expectations. Both our own and the expectations of others. And I find it interesting that if we expect good things for ourselves and put that out into the world we're somehow delusional or arrogant. But yet if we do something nice for somebody and they don't reciprocated in the same way sort of your opinion of that person or your view that they didn't give whatever it...

Episode 15. I'm tired of the internet telling me how to live my life and implying I'm wrong 28.12.2020

Today I talk about getting inundated with information. And people seemingly telling everyone else how to live their life. Worse still if you don't do things the way other people want you to do them then you're wrong somehow!

Episode 14. Getting mad at stuff is dumb! 28.12.2020

I feel like I'm the king getting mad at stuff. Lots of stuff fires me up in a negative way. I think that's why I gravitate to the self-help / self-improvement stuff. It's really easy to get upset these days. I mean all you have to do is scroll through social media and you know two days after everyone had the Christmas spirit. More negative stuff coming down the pipe talking about something that's...

Episode 13 .Sports and James Harden 24.12.2020

In this episode I talk about the Houston Rockets James Harden apparently getting a video taken of him at a strip club and violating covid protocols for the NBA. I talk a little bit about my sports history and what I like and dislike about the current game of the NBA. I also take a moment to take a shot at the person who actually took the video of James Harden in the first place.

Episode 12. Be your 7 year old self - and get a hobby 23.12.2020

When we're younger we just do whatever we want to do and we don't have the limitations that society or our environment puts upon us. What's something that you wanted to do for a long time and you just haven't done it? What would your 7-year-old version of yourself do? My guess is they would just go and do the thing they wanted to do. So do that!

Episode 11. WWE inspired me to play a character 22.12.2020

Thank you for sticking with me past the vaunted "10 Episode podcast curse". There are some things I want to change about my behavior. Not that I want to change anything about my core person but there are things that I do on a daily basis I want to get better at or change. So I was inspired because I'm a huge WWE wrestling fan and I thought about the fact that they play characters either good guys...

Episode 10. Decrease your barrier of entry and to be intentional 21.12.2020

What do I mean when I talk about decreasing your barrier to entry. I mean if something seems too difficult we might not even get started. For example if you make a commitment to working out everyday for a half an hour that may be too much and you might not get started because you don't know where you're going to find your half an hour from. But if you can make a commitment to work out a half an ho...

Episode 9. My friend Anthony Sanna stops by. 21.12.2020

Okay well he didn't really stop by. He lives in Nelson so we recorded the podcast with me and Victoria and him and Nelson. He's one of my best friends and online marketing smarty pants and a connoisseur of podcasts and communication. So we shoot the breeze and we talk about a whole bunch of different topics. A little about self-improvement, a little about podcasts and a lot about friendship and me...

Episode 8. I have Cerebral Palsy and I have bathroom issues 20.12.2020

Last night I ended up having a crazy stomach ache and as a result I had to use the bathroom quite a bit. Usually my counter to that is to drink a bunch of water and it worked. I felt better quite quickly but as a result I didn't sleep very well I was at multiple times in the middle of the night to pee. And for someone with Cerebral Palsy and limited movement that could be very difficult and so I g...

Episode 7. My opinion on electric cars 19.12.2020

Today I talk about electric cars being toted as the savior of our planet and a replacement for gas powered vehicles. While I agree they're going to help a lot I talk about the thing that needs to change the most. Our consumerism and the fact that we buy a new car every two years has a lot more negative impact on the planet than what we drive.

Episode 6. Motivation isn't enough, commit and do it even if you don't want to! 18.12.2020

I didn't want to get out of bed today and do a podcast episode. But I did one and I'm happy that I did. I recognized that the commitment I made to myself could you daily episodes for at least 30 days was super important to me. I knew even though I didn't want to that I had to record this today. I would regret it tomorrow and probably for a lot longer than that if I didn't. Once I started moving an...

Episode 5. New year's resolutions 17.12.2020

In this episode I talk about New year's resolutions and goal setting. I discuss why they typically don't work for me. I also discuss how to keep momentum whether it's New year's resolution goals or just regular goals. How motivation isn't always enough and there's some tips in this episode on how to help with long-term success.

Episode 4. How to have balance in your relationships 16.12.2020

In this episode I talk about being okay with who you are. Also understanding that not every person is going to like you and even if they do like you they're not going to be able to meet you at the same level that you meet them. What I mean by that is they're not going to always give and receive love in the same way that you do or give and receive friendship in the same way that you do and you have...

Episode 3. Do you love Christmas or not so much? 15.12.2020

For many years I've been on the side of Ebenezer Scrooge and the Grinch. it's not that I didn't enjoy Christmas and getting gifts and buying gifts for people but I always felt stressed out by Christmas. The parties the obligation the annoying conversations when you didn't want to go to somebody's party. The people that love Christmas way too much and just wanted everybody to be involved in Christm...

Episode 2. Accessibility is everyone's issue. 14.12.2020

In this episode I talk about accessibility advocacy. If you're someone that doesn't have a disability you can make a bigger impact on making society more accessible for people with disabilities. Also I have a mini challenge for able-bodied people over the next few days or a week . Thanks for tuning in.
