This week we begin a 3 week study on what the Bible says about money. This Sunday we will be looking at a parable Jesus gives us in Luke 12:13-21 that provides a stark warning about money. Read the parable as well as John's dire words in Revelation 3:15-17 and identify the warning, consider what real riches are, and examine your own attitude toward wealth.

This week we finish up our first of four studies this year in 1 Samuel with a look at 1 Samuel 4-7. Read the text with a special notice to the unhealthy relationship the Israelites have with the ark of the covenant. Consider what good things - even things of God that we can sometimes value more than God and depend on in place of God.

This week we look at 1 Samuel 2:12-3:21 and we examine what it means to honor God above all else. Read the text and compare Eli with Hannah - which did each honor more God or their child/children? Compare Samuel with Hophni and Phinehas. Who did they honor? And how? All the while consider the question, "Who or what do I honor more than God?"

This week we continue our study of 1 Samuel called "Not by Might". Here we examine Hannah's song in 1 Samuel 2:1-11 and consider the importance of being truly in awe of God and how that helps us to depend on the Lord and prevail in life. Consider reading the text and prayerfully finding ways to be in awe of God more often.

This week we begin a new study on the first 7 chapters of 1 Samuel called "Not by Might". We will be examining what it looks like to depend on the Lord and actually prevail. Take some time to read 1 Samuel 1 and consider what it looks like for Hannah to "pour out her soul before the Lord" and notice her face was no longer sad before she knew what God's answer to her prayer would be. As we wrap up our series “To Know God” we will add our 3rd and final leg and ask the question: What does it mean to do God’s work? Ephesians 3: 6-10, James 1:27, Matthew 5:14-16, and 1 Corinthians 3:9 are good verses to start with.

This week we look at the 2nd leg of the stool - the importance of transparent Christian relationships. Over and over again in scripture, we are called to counsel each other, confront each other, confess to each other, weep and rejoice with each other. We need each other! Take some time to read 1 Corinthians 12 and consider how God means for us to be a body.

Last week we talked about how knowing God is eternal life, the only thing worth boasting about, and the best thing in life. This week we examine the truth that if we want to know God we must be in His Word. We will be looking specifically at Deuteronomy 8:1-3 and Moses' profound words to the Israelites about God's Word. Read the text and prayerfully consider what it means and why it is true.

This week we begin a new series about the greatest venture of any human being - eternal life itself - knowing God. This will be the first of a four part series where will discuss what it means to know God and why it is so essential. Prayerfully read John 17:3 and Jeremiah 9:23-24 and consider what the scriptures say about knowing God.

Have you ever had to repeat yourself because someone wasn’t paying attention to what you were saying? Have you ever felt like no one really cared what you had to say? Have you ever wondered “God, can you hear me?” This week we will be diving into this question and more as we look at what Scripture says about God hearing us. This week we begin a new series called "The Gospel According to Ebenezer Scrooge". Here we will be using the timeless classic as a parable to help us examine and understand deep truths in scripture that will help us realize the offer of Romans 12:2 to be transformed by the renewal of our minds.

This week we conclude our final study in Acts with a look at Paul's harrowing journey to Rome by sea. They spend weeks in a storm and end up shipwrecked and yet, through it all, Paul remains stubbornly calm. Read Acts 27-28 and pay attention to Paul's calm and how it affected those around him.

This week we begin our last series out of Acts. For the next three weeks we will be surveying Acts 20-28 and the final years of the Apostle Paul's life. Paul never shines brighter than he does in the end of Acts. Read Acts 20-21 and pay attention to Paul's clarity of purpose.
