This week we begin a new series based off the book “firsthand” by Ryan and Josh Shook. We will begin to ask questions about what faith is, how we come by it, and who or where are we placing our faith. Scripture helps begin this discussion in places like Hebrew 11:1, Matthew 17:20, and Romans 1:11.

This week we look to the famed story of Daniel and the lion’s den in Daniel chapter 6. Read the story and consider the following questions: why did Daniel choose the lions den? What do you think you would do? What are a few things said about Daniel in Daniel 6 that all Christians should desire be said about them?

This week we look at Daniel 4 which is written by King Nebuchadnezzar. He receives another warning in a dream about a simple truth that he just doesn’t know yet. It’s a truth we all struggle with at times-but knowing it makes all the difference. Read the chapter and consider what this truth is and why it’s so important.

Why does Nebuchadnezzar build the statue and make the demands that he does? How do our three heroes respond and why? What does their behavior tell you about what they valued most in life?
