The Devil can use so many things in life to try to keep us from being the Christians we should be. All of us will have difficulties to deal with, but we must not allow these things to hold us. We must press forward in our service to Christ and find pace in trusting Him.

God can take the simplest of things and teach us the most profound lessons. The proverb of dead flies in the apothecary's ointment shows us clearly how a little folly affects our lives. Our foolish behavior not only affects us, but it also affects those around us. Our lives cannot be a blessing to others and put forth the sweet fragrance of Christ when we are living foolishly.

He speaks in the fear of God, because the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
