Riverstone York: The Message

Doubtless faith. It sounds more like an aspiration than a reality. There are so many things that cause us to doubt, yet Jesus gently helps us grow our faith even through life's storms as we learn more about who He is.

Jesus was kind, loving, strong, gracious, and more. But we don't often consider that He was serious. Perhaps we take it for granted or as an assumption, but as we move from Matthew 13 into chapter 14, we find Jesus is serious. It's a good reminder for us to hear.

It's hard to be part of something you don't understand. Did you know Jesus wanted to help His people understand the Kingdom of Heaven? He explained the kingdom through parables. Follow along in Matthew 13 as we seek to understand more about the Kingdom of Heaven.

Jesus is clear that fruit is an obvious sign of salvation. As He transitions to teaching through parables in Matthew 13, we examine the convicting truth that if the seed of the Gospel has been planted in good soil, we should expect to bear fruit.

When Jesus asks, "Are you with me?" What is your response? Are you sure of that answer? Listen in as we unpack Matthew 12:30-50.

Jesus couldn't be stopped just because the Pharisees were upset. His mission continued despite their rejection as he showed his identity in the face of impossibilities. His example is one worth emulating as Christians and Christianity are wrong in the world today.

It's easy to find fulfillment in being a rule follower. You get a sense of pride because you check all the boxes school, work, or society expects of you. When it comes to the law of God (think Old Testament law and prophets), the rules actually have a greater point than just making us rule followers! Jesus talked to the Pharisees about this in Matthew 12.

When your plan doesn't match God's plan. Trust God's plan. When people reject God's plan. Trust God's plan. When God invites you into His plan. Trust God's plan. From Matthew 11

It's easy to acquire behaviors that you eventually settle into. You haven't planned or organized them, they just happen. Eventually, they become an automatic part of your life and routine. Some are good and some are not so good. Your faith has good and bad habits, too. Consider carefully this message from John 14.

At the end of Matthew 9, Jesus told his disciples the harvest was plentiful but the laborers were few. In Matthew 10, we see Jesus send out apostles to be workers in that harvest and we learned what it looks like for us to work toward His harvest, too!

What would Jesus do if He had MY summer ahead of Him? It's a question worth asking yourself as a Jesus follower. Let's consider what His answer would be as we study Matthew 9:35-38.

In a world of broken things, we often look for experts and specialists to restore collectibles, antiques, cars and more. In a broken world with broken people, we need Jesus. He's the only one with the authority to restore our lives. Matthew 9:18-34
