Richard Ellis Talks

It is crucial in the Christian life to find a church, commit to it as God leads, and stick with it even if it gets hard or we may get offended. God created us to not live alone, and in order to live in the way He created us to it means that we must have whole hearted devotion to a church family, building relationships and fellowshipping together. Since God is the provider of all of our needs, we must not fear being persecuted for the Gospel and receiving possible consequences of hate or loss. When the Spirit leads us to speak, we must speak and trust God to take care of the rest. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/640/29

When Jesus walked the earth He healed many people and taught His disciples to do the same. God wants to use us to do His work, so without knowing His purposes it is important to obey Him in whatever He calls us to do. When we respond to Him with trust and obedience in small stuff, He will use us for bigger things. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/640/29

While the world is full of people striving for self-made success, only true success can be found in following Christ. When we submit our lives to Him, it is inevitable that we will grow into a position to lead and disciple others, leaving successors on this earth when we go to Heaven. God is capable of doing seemingly impossible things, and He wants to do those things in and through us. When we surrender our will and choose to obey whatever He tells us to do, we experience first hand His amazing power that brings about miraculous blessings. It is easy to compare ourselves to others, whether by outward appearance or difficult circumstances, and we tend to question God. Just as the pot cannot question the potter, we must trust God that He has a plan and purpose for how our life is and instead of comparing we can willingly allow Him to use us however He pleases. The story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden shows the consequence of sin, the shame that comes after it, and the necessity of death to cover it. The is the Gospel story that Jesus took on our nakedness and shame to die on the cross on our behalf, offering us a covering and right relationship with God. Every Christian is called to share the Gospel with everyone around them. The greatest way that we can show that the Gospel has made a difference in our lives is by living differently than everyone else, being the salt and light. Wherever God has placed us, we must make sure we are doing our jobs as a Christian on the job. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate...

Instead of judging other people for the lifestyle choices that they make, we need to examine ourselves and realize that we need Jesus just as much as they do. When we allow Him to come in and change us from the inside, it will show through our actions. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/640/29

God is described in the Bible as implementing truth at the same time as mercy over and over again. Without mercy, truth becomes too difficult to grasp, and without truth, mercy allows for too much freedom. In the same way that God pairs both, we must do the same when dealing with others. We do not have to live our lives in a prison cell where we are caught up in sin. Jesus offers us free lives, and it is in that freedom that we find our purpose and fulfillment through Him. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/640/29

If mistakes were made in the past that resulted in an abortion, God’s love and mercy are extended so that forgiveness may be received and there can be a fresh start. As Christians, the Bible instructs us to pray for our leaders whether we like them or not. May we pray for them and the decisions they make on behalf of the unborn. When someone accepts Jesus as their Lord and Savior, He restores that maker’s mark lost from the fall of creation within that person and they are redeemed, never to be condemned again. We must believe in the promise that because of Christ we are made new restored to bear the image of God because that is how He created us to be. Jesus did everything needed in order to be with us. When we are in relationship with Him, He draws us into relationships with others. The Church is made up of God’s people, and we are all called to be with each other, discipling one another and advancing His Kingdom. Jesus accepted the cup God had given Him of such great suffering for the greater good of saving us from our sins. Sometimes God gives us a cup of suffering that we must drink in order to experience His blessings for us, whether we get them here on earth or not until Heaven. We will suffer either way, but it’s better to suffer God’s way for our own good. To support this ministry financially, visit:...

The devil will try to remind us of our past sins in order to cripple us from moving forward, but we must cling to the forgiveness that God has already given us. We can overcome the devil’s accusations by claiming God’s forgiveness that came through the Blood of the Lamb. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/640/29

There are challenges that come up in our lives when it seems impossible for us to overcome, but with God all things are possible. We need to remember when we have come out stronger from challenges that have been presented to us so that we can face oncoming obstacles with faith in God to bring us through. Many Christians may say they are willing to die for Jesus, but they are not willing to die to themselves for His sake in their lives. Truly following Christ requires that we die to ourselves, give up our sinful desires, and let Him live in and through us. Just like a ball in a sport cannot do anything on its own to score points, a man apart from God cannot accomplish anything of eternal value. We must place ourselves in the hands of God to use with His great skill so that we can have value based on whose hands we are in and we can bring Him glory. In order to be used by Him at all, we must first receive His Son, the One who made it possible for us...

We will all face difficulties in life but when Jesus lives in us we can have total ultimate victory over all things. When we realize the power that is in us through Him, our faith in Him diminishes all fear. God loves to work in the seemingly impossible so ask Him to help you triumph over the most impossible circumstances. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donat...

If we don’t take the time to rest, we will run ourselves into the ground because we’re not getting any deposits as we’re continuing to make withdrawals. In the category of sin, we must stop depositing the things of this world that we don’t want to have withdrawals from. When we live in the light and let go of our sin, we have the freedom to have fellowship with other believers. To support this min...

Many of us tend to have a sacred cow in our lives, something that we hold as an idol. Jesus died as the sacrificial payment for our sins, and so we must remember that when we hold on to something that is not pleasing to God we are abusing the grace that has been given to us. The whole Gospel is centered around God offering us a completely free gift of mercy, grace and forgiveness from all of our sins. Instead of continuing to try to pay for it ourselves, all we need to do is open our hands and receive what He is offering us today. We all make mistakes in our lives, but the goal is to make more right turns than wrong ones. No matter how many wrong turns we’ve taken in our lives, Jesus is always inviting us to a different path where we can begin making right turns as He leads us to do so. The significant parts of our lives may not be the most happy times, but rather the moments when we chose to be faithful to God in the midst of trial and pain. The Bible tells story after story, highlighting people who were faithful to God and chose to obey Him no matter what and God honored that.
