When mountains first show up in the Bible, it's during the flood. Mountains give us a picture of strength and refuge to run to when the chaos and dangers of life come. We all have something(s) that we take refuge in, but in the flood, we see that those other refuges cannot stand. But Calvary, where Jesus died, is a sure refuge for us at all times.
