Hugh Mundell (1962–1983), known as The Blessed Youth, was a Jamaican roots reggae prodigy mentored by Augustus Pablo. At age 14, he recorded the classic album Africa Must Be Free By 1983, celebrated for his unique spiritual falsetto and Pablo's mystical production. His promising career was tragically cut short when he was shot and killed in Kingston at just 21 years old.

Augustus Pablo (1953–1999) was an influential Jamaican reggae and dub musician who popularized the melodica as a lead instrument. He pioneered the mystical, minor-key "Far East" sound in the 1970s and founded the Rockers International label. His landmark 1976 release King Tubbys Meets Rockers Uptown remains one of the most celebrated dub albums in music history.
