This week on RITY, I'm playing pairs of songs that have the same title, but are completely different.

With The Bengals going to the SuperBowl for the third time, this week our theme is songs that were on the Top 40 chart the other two weeks they went to the big game - SuperBowl XVI (January 24th, 1982) AND SuperBowl XXIII (January 22nd, 1989).

This week on RITY, we travel to Sheffield, Alabama to visit a former coffin showroom. In 1969, the building was resurrected and converted into a small, intimate studio that produced the Muscle Shoals Sound!

The Bo Diddley Beat… You’ve heard it, but you probably didn’t even realize it. I was lucky enough to find an old clip of Bo discussing his beat, which kicks off this edition of Reelin’ In The Years. The clip is followed by nearly two hours worth of tunes that include an interpretation of Bo’s Beat!

On this edition of RITY, we explore plagiarism disputes. I'll play the original song, followed by the song that was found guilty of copying parts of the original.

In March of 1988, ABC introduced the world to The Wonder Years - A coming-of-age TV series that starred Fred Savage as Kevin Arnold, a teenager growing up in a suburban middle-class family in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Aside from being a great show, it had an amazing soundtrack which is our theme for this episode of RITY.
