Where are you God? Have you ever been there? This is one of the most honest questions that even the most faith-filled ask in times of suffering; especially when the suffering isn't met with quick resolve. The good news, God is able to handle the question and not only that answers it by pointing us to the cross, His presence, and the promise of resolution. (07-08-18)

Does God care about justice? Absolutely. So when we see injustice, what should our response be? Where should we go, what should we do? In this incredibly raw and honest Psalm from David we get some insight into the relationship between justice and mercy. (07.01.18)

Famine, death, doubts, surrender, redemption. This is what we've seen throughout this amazing story. What we've also seen is God's providential hand all the way to the end. Some of the hardest and scariest times in our lives come during the waiting on the unknown. When we're helpless and all we can do is wait our mind races, our hearts wander, and doubts grow greater. What we see in Ruth 4 is a beautiful picture of God's faithfulness and we're reminded that Jesus, who has purchased our future is in control of our present. (06-10-18)

It's hard to wait, especially when we're in a difficult situation or season of life. When we are waiting on the unknown it's even more difficult. In this chapter of Ruth we see good intentions mixed with poor methods but we also see God moving in spite of this. Waiting on God is always better than looking back and wishing you had. (06-03-18)

God never stops moving in the midst of the most difficult times in our life. The reality is, sometimes we see His hand very clearly and sometimes we don't. But just as we see here in chapter 2 of Ruth, in God there is always hope. (05-27-18)

Naomi has lost a lot. She's lost her husband and her two sons and she's grown bitter. She's allowed what's happened to become who she is. She has literally taken on a new identity...bitter. In Christ, you are not your circumstance; your pain, your past, your success, a label. In Christ, your identity is a beloved son or daughter. (05-20-18)

What does it mean to be a godly women? There are many ideas and suggestions, but today we look at Proverbs 31 through the lens of Ruth to see what this does and doesn't look like. (05-13-18)

Going through difficulty and pain is never easy and it's only harder when you go through it alone. After the fallout, we see how God uses Ruth to show Naomi kindness in the middle of the crisis and how that points to Jesus and the kindness He shows us. (05-06-18)

How do I trust God when chooses not to do what I know He's able to do? This is one of our biggest struggles as Christians. For all of us, the unthinkable, the unwanted, the unexpected will happen. Dreams will be cracked and shattered and we'll be faced with the option of trusting God or pushing away. (04-29-18)

Final words are important words. They convey a "please don't forget this" plea when they come from loved ones. As Jesus concludes His sermon on the mount He has some powerful final words for the people and poses a critical question we all need to examine. What am I building my life on? (04-22-18)

There are many who know about Jesus and many who have and will use Jesus to their own ends. What Jesus himself is very clear on is that only a real relationship with Him as savior and Lord matters in the end. (04-15-18)

Beware of false prophets. Yes, it's easier than you think to follow a wolf in sheep's clothing. There are people all around us that may look like they're speaking or standing for the truth but in reality are just looking for their next meal. How do we avoid following or falling into their trap? We love sharing good news and there's no greater news than the gospel of Jesus. That our savior overcame sin and death by overcoming the grave and offers us new life in His life that was raised. Come, see! Jesus is alive! (04-01-18)

How does Jesus treat people? He always moves toward the mess, toward the hurt, toward the struggle, never away from it. What does Jesus have to say about the life of a disciple and the reality of Hell? The gate is narrow and the way is hard, but it's absolutely worth it. (03-25-18)

What is it that keeps us from bringing our questions, our struggles, our concerns, to God? Each and every day there are areas in our lives where we need help but instead of going to God we go it alone. Jesus has a better way. (03-18-18)

We are tempted to judge others daily...probably even minute to minute. How dangerous is this practice when it becomes a regular part of our lives? What we see clearly through Jesus teaching is that Judging blinds us to grace. (03-11-18)

Anxiety is something many struggle with on a daily basis, and for all of us is a temptation. What should we do with our anxious hearts and mind? Where do we go? What's the solution? Hear these words of Jesus. (03-04-18)

Jesus isn't looking for good works if they come from a wicked heart. He is crystal clear when it comes to HOW we give and it's all about the motive. If it's about the need for praise, keep the works. (02-04-18)

As a church we stand and will always stand for life. We believe that every life begins in the womb and that no one has the right to take a life. Are we pro birth, yes. Are we also pro all of life, absolutely. Every single person has been made in the image of God and therefore has value and purpose. (01.28.18)

Not only does God care and pastors care, but we have been called to care for one another inside and outside of the church family. What should this look like? To answer that we jump into I Corinthians 12 to see what the Apostle Paul has to say. (01-21-18)

What should the church expect from their pastors? Care! This doesn't just mean being there in a crisis, as we see in Acts 20, it means being present accessible and truly knowing the sheep while feeding, protecting, and sacrificing for them. Our example is Jesus and the bar is set high. (01-14-17)
