Let's be honest, there is no such thing as a perfect parent, and there is no such thing as perfect kids.  The good news is that the goal of parenting is not perfection. This week we look at Psalm 127:3-5 and discover that the primary role of parents is to Disciple our Children is the ways of God and bring all areas of their lives to maturity in the Lord.

There has to be a better option for dating than what the world teaches us. What if it was possible to intentionally and prayerfully pursue someone for marriage in a way that is not only honors God, but also cares for the long term good of everyone involved.

On the cross, Jesus said It is Finished and then gave up his Spirit and Died. The resurrection is the proof that Jesus is not finished and salvation is possible for anyone who believes, trusts, submits and surrender their lives to Jesus.

“It is finished” was a cry of victory. The law is fulfilled, the devil is defeated, the cup of wrath is drained, and sinners are saved. When we put our trust in the finished work of Christ on the cross we can become fully loved, fully accepted, fully forgiven, fully adopted sons and daughters of God.

On the cross when Jesus said, “I thirst”, he is speaking of both physical thirst and spiritual thirst. Jesus is taking upon Himself, the punishment we as sinners deserve. He drinks the wrath of God that we deserve, so that we may drink the living water that satisfies our souls. 

 As Jesus dies on the cross in our place for our sin, he experiences the the wrath and judgment we are all due. The execution of Jesus, was not defeat, but rather the execution of God’s plan to seek and save the lost.

The word of Jesus to his mother from the cross is a great encouragement to our faith. For if he could provide for his own in the moment of his weakness and humiliation, how much more can he meet all our needs today from His power and exaltation!

We are forgiven, accepted, loved, adopted and guaranteed an eternal inheritance, because the man on the middle cross said so! 

Jesus came to seek and save the lost. The cross of Christ not only declares our guilt, but also shows us how we can be forgiven. What will you do with Jesus, His life, His Death, and Resurrection? 

Whatever you do, first and foremost love Jesus, and boldly declare the good news of Gospel to the people around you. 

We are at war, and we need to pray like it! Prayer is our direct line of communication to God. 

 The most important words spoken in human history are, “it is finished”. The most important word for navigating our lives as Christ Followers are, “it is written.” 

Our salvation and right standing with God is not based upon what we can earn, do, and achieve. Our salvation and right standing with God is based upon the eternal inheritance we have received from Jesus!

The opposite of faith is not doubt, the opposite of faith is fear. This week we discover that our faith in Jesus is a weapon against the Satan that extinguishes all the flaming darts of the enemy.

When we are at peace with God, we can now experience the peace of God in our lives. This peace moves us to be prepared to share the Good News of the Gospel with the people around us. 

We are in a literal war, with a real enemy, who has plans to steal, kill and destroy. The good news is, Jesus has provided us with the victory and strength we need for the battle. This week we discover that the belt of truth is more than just information. To know truth is to know Jesus, who is the truth.
