From Matthew 26:47-75. In this passage, we see Jesus is ultimately arrested and condemned to fulfill the Scriptures and deliver His people. He was arrested concerning the true claims of His divinity, all moving towards redemption, hope, and salvation.

From Matthew 26:30-46. In this passage, we see indeed Jesus must die, He must be sacrificed for the redeeming plan of the Father to move forward. When the shepherd is struck, it will cause many to stumble and fall away and it will cause His flock to run to Him in faith. From Matthew 26:17-29. In this passage, we see Jesus wasn’t making something new up, but instead was taking a long established sign of God’s goodness, and declaring that He himself was that sign.

From Matthew 26:1-16. In this passage, we see it is time for the death of Jesus. As this story is unfolding, we must remember that the coming death of Jesus is both necessary and good.

From Matthew 25:31-46. In this passage, we see that we should expect Jesus to reign and we should expect the reigning Jesus to draw people to Himself.

From Galatians 4:4-7. In this passage, we see Paul is making a point that Jesus, the son of God, became man at just the right time, to accomplish exactly what God intended. Why did Jesus come when he came? What are we supposed to do with the Christmas story?

From Matthew 25:1-30. In this passage, we see Jesus giving two parables that drill down on what it looks like to be ready (for Jesus’ return) and what it looks like to be actively faithful. Jesus wants us to be eagerly, actively looking for Him to come. Jesus also wants us to actively and faithfully steward what He’s entrusted us until He comes.

From Matthew 24:36-51. In this passage, we see that Jesus is coming again and Jesus is teaching us to stay spiritually awake looking for His return and to stay spiritually faithful to His Word as we look for his return. Anything less is missing the point.

From Matthew 24:15-35. In this passage, we see Jesus is preparing His disciples to be faithful in their generation….and to interpret this cry - “Come Lord Jesus”.

From Matthew 24:3-14. In this passage, we see that Jesus is preparing His disciples to be faithful to Him, even in great hardship.

From Matthew 24:1-4. In this passage, we see Jesus was not merely calling for a reformation within the temple worship of Israel, but rather He was coming to radically change what it looked like to relate to God.

From Matthew 23:37-39. In this passage, Jesus gives us a beautiful insight into the heart of Jesus…that the severity of God’s judgement is matched by and inseparable from His love and care for His people. Therefore, we should let the weight of this judgement press and drive us towards Him.

From Matthew 23:29-36. In this passage, we see that Jesus’ judgement and anger are just, well placed, and they reveal God’s good character.

From Matthew 23:25-28. In this passage, we see that external adherence to rules will never make us acceptable or pleasing in the sight of God. Morally cleaning ourselves up on the outside will never satisfy what the Lord longs for His people.

From Matthew 23:23-24. In this passage, we discover that as God’s people, to know the Lord and know what the Lord desires, and to pursue what the Lord desires - is how we follow Jesus. Are we running towards Jesus and bringing others with us?

From Matthew 23:16-23. In this passage, the key word is “blind guides”. Ultimately, what Jesus is condemning the Pharisees for in this passage is creating rules that were good law but completely missed the point of worshiping God.

From Matthew 23:13-15. In this passage, this is the first of many ‘woe’ statements that Jesus delivers to the religious leaders of Israel. They had one job and they were failing miserably at it. They were to prepare the people for the son of God who is coming to redeem, and instead they were lost and they missed Jesus the Savior. We should learn to see Jesus and learn to cling to, run to, and foll...

From Matthew 23:1-36. In this passage, Jesus instructs His listeners (the people of Jerusalem), to not follow their leaders because they are hypocrites and the woe of God rests upon them. And He is issuing this warning to lovingly guide His people toward Himself by offering a clear rebuke of the religious leaders in Jerusalem on the week of Jesus’ crucifixion.

From Matthew 22:41-46. In this passage, Jesus asks the religious leaders a question that will ultimately prepare them to wrestle with His true identity as Messiah and the son of God.

From Matthew 22:34-40. In this passage, the religious leaders continue to try and catch Jesus in a trap by asking what is the greatest commandment in the Law. Jesus answers this question clearly, and in doing so, tells us what God cares deeply about for us, even today.

From Matthew 22:23-33. In this passage, Christ affirms the centrality of the resurrection in a way that we need to cling to. The heart of the power of God is His redeeming broken people to live with Him forever. What do you believe about eternity? Does it line up with what the Scriptures say about eternity?

From Matthew 22:15-22. This passage is intended to shape how we think about Christ, His Kingdom, and obedience to Him. Why did Jesus respond the way He did to the question in this passage? Do we have a faith where the words of Jesus challenge and stretch and reshape who we are? Or do we have a faith where we expect to make Jesus in our own image?

From Matthew 22:11-14. In part 2 of this passage, Jesus continues this parable by challenging the religions leaders of Israel, and the question Jesus is answering is, “Who are the true people of the Kingdom?”

From Matthew 22:1-14. In this passage, we see Jesus continuing to instruct the religious leaders of Israel about His kingdom, specifically how He came to build His kingdom defined by an allegiance to Himself.
