This week at Reconciliation Road Church, we had guest speaker Blessing Ngubane speak to us from Acts 2:42–47. The encouragement to us was to look at the format of the early church and be inspired! Their love for Christ, their joy, their togetherness, and their desire to go out into the world and spread the Gospel are what we should look to as a part of God's design for a healthy church.

This week, we had Zip Nolan from OneCity Church come and encourage us through Matthew 5:13–20. He encouraged us to be salt and light in a world that is heavily influenced by sinful culture and ungodly trends. He challenged us to stand firm in the face of these influences and continue to live in a way that reflects Christ to those around us.

This past Sunday at Reconciliation Road Church, Prince preached from Haggai 1:1–9. He showed that the Israelites and we have much in common: both struggle to keep our priorities in the right order. A very special Ordination Sunday here at Reconciliation Road Church, where we had Gareth Bowley preach from Haggai 2. From the Scripture, we were encouraged by the story of the Israelites rebuilding the House of God and the ups and downs of that journey. Gareth helped us to see how we all have a part to play when the Lord calls His people to work.

This week, we had Nozipho Dhlamini speak to us from 1 Corinthians 6 on the topic of  "Working Out Gospel-Centred Sexuality." Nozi challenged us to see and faithfully follow what the Word of God says about sex and our bodies, rather than following what the world says.

This week we had Nathan preach from 1 Corinthians 13, giving us a wider view of the highly quoted Scripture. He helped us understand that as believers, love is the highest goal! Through God's Word, Nathan showed us that the Lord wants us to love one another and prioritise that above any gifts that we may have.

This past week at RRC we had baptisms! As a Gospel-centred community, we believe that baptisms are an incredibly beautiful & powerful moment in the life of a Christ-follower. Building off of Romans 6:3–4, Prince laid a wonderfully sober foundation for this moment, giving us a better understanding of what this step of faith means.

A special episode — we had Gareth Bowley come and speak to RRC’s leadership teams, encouraging us in how to work well within our different teams! In two sessions, Gareth gave us a biblical foundation for teams, pointing to the Trinity as the ultimate team and showing us that teams are actually God’s idea. Prince Blom kicked off our 1 Corinthians series this week, speaking to us about how the divisions in the church of Corinth can look quite similar to the divisions in our modern-day churches. He encouraged us to fight for unity and look to Jesus, the One who is the ultimate leader.

At RRC this past Sunday, we had Gareth Bowley, a beloved guest preacher from One Hope Church, come and share with us a sermon on "The Spiritual Discipline of Lament." Based on Psalm 77, Gareth gave us four practical steps that prompt us to see God as the One who can help us best in our times of trouble.

This week, we had Kenan Naicker, a guest speaker and well-known face here at Rec Road Church, share an incredible message with us titled, “What King will you follow?” Rooted in 1 Samuel 22, he challenged and encouraged us to look to Jesus, our ultimate King, and follow Him, regardless of what our current circumstances may be.

Rooted in 1 Corinthians 15:1–19, Prince Blom brought us an incredible word on the truth that Jesus Christ has indeed been risen from the dead. Prince helped us to see that in a world saturated with unbelief, we as Christ followers can know that Jesus’ death and resurrection hold true even in the face of unbelief.

This past Sunday, we had a standalone preach from Ma Khabo, one of our very own here at RRC. She gave a magnificent post-Easter word on how we can see that the Cross is God's love in action. Through the Scriptures, she showed us that as believers, we can trust in God's love for us because of what Jesus did for us on the Cross!

For our Good Friday service here at Rec Road Church, we had seven powerful messages expanding on ' The Seven Last Words of Jesus or (Amaze Ayisikhombisa kaJesu.)' Each of our speakers gave an inspiring and sobering message that encouraged us to reflect on what Jesus Christ did for us on the Cross.

At Rec Road Church this week, we had Craig Botha, a guest speaker from Grace Generation Church, come and close off our Holy Spirit Series. He took us through John 7:37–39, showing us how the Holy Spirit helps us to have a high view of all of the gifts, including prophecy.

On our second-to-last sermon of our Holy Spirit series, we had Nathan Haylock give a dynamic teaching on prophecy. He took us through 1 John 4:1–6 and showed us that the Scriptures not only affirm prophecy but also encourage us to walk out the Biblical model.

This week at Rec Road Church, we had Prince continue our Holy Spirit series. This week’s topic was a walkthrough of the 'Gifts of the Holy Spirit in corporate worship'. Reading from 1 Corinthians 14:26–27, he challenged us to move away from our modern understanding of worship and to believe what the Word of God says about it.

This Sunday we gathered under the Word of God as Nozi took us through a powerful message, helping us to see the different gifts that the Holy Spirit gives us. Nozi walked us through the importance of having a Biblical view of the gifts God promises to give His children, and she unpacked with us how to practically engage with those gifts.

Continuing in our Holy Spirit series, we had Kopano Malebo, a guest speaker from Grace Generation Church, to share a powerful message on how the Holy Spirit of God is a Person. Kopano unpacked the different ways that we see the Holy Spirit relating to us as a Person and gave us a deeper understanding of how the Spirit of God helps, teaches, and convicts us.

This Sunday, we had Bandile Sizani, a guest speaker from one of our partner churches, Grace Generation Church, beautifully unpack the topic,  “Who the Holy Spirit Is to Us,”  as part of our Holy Spirit series. His four points—Doctrine, Delight, Doxology, and Doing—helped us see the many ways we can put our trust in God’s Holy Spirit and look to Him for help.

Prince kicked off our new series where we will be diving deeper into our understanding of God's own Spirit. He opened the series up by explaining to us Who the Holy Spirit is, taking us through the different parts of Scripture both New and Old Testament, showing us that He has always been with and among us. Nozi shared from 1 Samuel 30:1-10 about the life of David. She elaborated on David being - a man after God's own heart - a skilled fighter - a man who enquired of the Lord David went though some difficult times She challenged us to to think on who or what we run to in times of distress. Hebrews 4:14-16 In our distress we can approach the throne of grace with boldness.

Prince expounded on the importance of Prayer as spoken about in Matthew 6. He reminded us that prayer is not: a show a performance a way to impress others What Jesus teaches instead is: Prayer begins by identifying God as our Father Prayer is aligning our hearts Prayer is aligning our will to His Will
