Looking at Isaac's whole life and the ways that God works through macrostories, mesostories, and microstories to form us and advance his Kingdom. Isaac is remembered in Hebrews 11 for having passed the blessing to Jacob and this is the part of his story that is highlighted as faith.

The story of Abraham and Sarah reminds us that God often calls ordinary, unlikely people into His redemptive plan. As our comfort gets disrupted, faith becomes the response to God as we live in the gap between what God has promised and what we currently see.

While Noah's life delivers a great story of struggle, obedience, rescue and sin, Enoch's life is told in just three words: "walked with God". But what if those three words became the summary of each of our stories?

Abel models to us what faithful sacrifice looks like as we delight in the person of God. Cain is a warning against envy and bitterness - coming to God with a sense of entitlement and pride.

Focus on the nature of story and how it not only forms the framework of Scripture but if forms the way we see ourselves and engage others in the Kingdom.  

Jesus, in declaring Himself as the good shepherd, describes how a good shepherd takes care of the flock, with implicaitons of the contrast - how imposter shepherds hurt the flock.

Focus on abiding through chosing to set our minds on Jesus and engaging in prayer with Jesus 

To a world that seeks satisfaction tangible objects and circumstances, Jesus offers himself as the bread of life. Not only is he the provider, he is the provision itself. All things that we crave and desire find their fullfullment in him. 

Jesus is the perfect example of how to live a life of meaning, how to live life to the full, and as we center on him and his example, he also calls us to be a light to the world, not through condemning, but through inviting others to follow him.

Matt Densky kicks off our "I AM" series by asking us the question Jesus asks his disciples, "Who do you say that I am?". This teaching will begin to lay out the 7 statements where Jesus reveals to us who he is - as recorded in the gospel of John. Along with some history about the covenant name for God YHWH or I AM who I AM out of Exodus.

When we know the promises of God are a surety- they will be fulfilled- then it changes how we wait for Him in joyful anticipation and expectation. This is the source of our true hope that will not put us to shame.

The heart of the Spirit is to remain in us and we remain in Him, cultivating a fruitful life in Jesus.

The heart of the Son is WITH us, shouldering the yoke alongside of us (Matt 11), emptying himself to become like us (Phil 2), and sympathizing with us as He intercedes (Heb 4).

Jesus gives us insight into the Heart of the Father by the way he responds to the Pharisees who question him eating with sinners by telling 3 stories (parables). The last of the three stories about a Father with two sons, and the type of the love this Father displays. The Heart of the Father is patient in our rebellion, excessive in grace, moving towards his children.

The God who exists as perfect love within the trinity becomes the source of our identity as Beloved Children of God. The source of identity is external from us but placed within us by the Spirit of God who has made our hearts his dwelling place.

Introduce the Triune God, how they exist together as Eternal Relational Love. Set the Table of Belonging we are invited to.

In the midst of a week of chaos in our culture, we are reminded that grief and hope can be intertwined ( 1 Thess 4:13). As we grieve with hope, the church becomes of a guide to the world of how to be unified in Jesus rather than weaponizing grief to destroy others.
