Palo Duro senior Aaren Woods was hurt late in Friday's game against Wichita Falls Legacy and required spine surgery.  We have the latest on the situation.  Canyon boys and girls swept the state XC titles while other area teams medaled during the two day event.  WT volleyball is hot plus high volleyball playoff pairings.  WT gets a big win on the road against Kingsville plus a full review of week 1...

State XC Meet Preview; West Plains Claims District VB Title; Week 10 TXHSFB Preview 31.10.2024

The state cross country meet is Friday and Saturday in Round Rock.  Canyon boys and girls, Gruver girls, Texline and Booker highlight strong medal contenders from this area.  West Plains claimed the District 4-4A title plus AHS, Bushland, Vega go undefeated in district.  Week 10 of the TXHSFB season has teams jockeying for position highlighted by Canyon/Hereford and Spearman/WT High.

Coach Leslie Broadhurst Passes; Randall Team Tennis Grabs Gold; Sunray, West Plains Lead Week 9 Highlights 28.10.2024

A true legend passed this morning as former Randall head coach Leslie Broadhurst passed.  We look at the legend and our memories of Coach Broadhurst.  Randall's tennis team captured Team Tennis gold for the second time in three years.  Sunray took down Panhandle in a great game and West Plains handled Randall.  All the news and notes from a great week 9 of TXHSFB.

Bryson Daily won the Manning Award for Quarterback of the Week for his play against Tulsa.  District action kicks off in earnest across the area with District 2-4A DI and Stratford/Gruver highlighting the schedule.  Team tennis playoffs are underway as Randall, Canyon and Amarillo High get Bi-District wins.

Bryson Daily led Army to another big win as the area star is turning heads.  Another week of TXHSFB is in the books.  Tascosa rolled over Lubbock High and Amarillo High fell to Abilene in a shootout.  Borger gets their first win and Dalhart impresses in win over Muleshoe.  We also look at area volleyball results where West Plains topped Canyon and Fort Elliott gets another big district win.

Weekk 2 of the TXHSFB season is in the books and Amarillo High, Bushland and Panhandle grabbed big wins.  Tascosa, West Plains and Canyon picked up bounce back wins while Dalhart throttled Perryton.  Buff football met their match with Colorado School of Mines but this team looks better than years past.  WT volleyball hosted the Britkare Classic and the Lady Buffs had a strong showing.

The first scrimmages of the season took place last week and Craig and Kale give their thoughts on what they saw.  We go over the top 30 players from 2A to 5A in the Texas Panhandle and the Top 10 players in Six-Man.  Our local volleyball squads, led by Bushland and San Jacinto, had great results in tournaments across the state.

Fall practice has kicked off across the area and Kale Steed weighs in on what he has seen, players who have impressed and stories he's encountered in the first week.  WT football camp is in full swing and the Buffs look to be improved in their second year under Josh Lynn.  Volleyball is also in full swing and we've got the top 15 players across the area.
